I was impressed at how professional everyone at Grobens was. They were attentive at all my request and needs. I would most definetely go back, I wouldn't go anywhere else
These people are they most inconsiderate, unprofessional people i have ever had work on my car. Unfortunately, three months ago I was in accident and Grobens came recommended through my insurance company. So I drop my car off (GET A RENT A CAR THAT I WAS PAYING FOR OUT OF POCKET) and after week and half goes by I get a phone call stating that my car will be ready in a few days. On the day I am suppose to pick up my car, they call to tell me they found glass in the vents. Which at first, I was little upset, they had my car for two weeks and no one even bothered to check if the shattered glass that was in my car and all over my dash was in the vents. It seemed convenient. But people are human, so I let it slide. They told me it was going to take a couple of days, and it did. HERE IS THE KICKER. Upon towing my car through the facility they cracked my windshield .Obviously I through a fit because this meant I had to wait for the glass repair man to fix my car. Which meant i had to continue driving and paying for my rent a car for another who knows how many days until this guy could show up. I demanded that the time I had to wait for the repair man should be paid by Grobens because they were at fault for the windshield. PUSH COMES TO SHOVE the repair man never shows up and I get a call from my claim adjuster stating that I should just come and pick up my car so I don't have to keep paying for the rent a car, and set up an appointment with the repair man myself (Which would of been nice to here the first time). So I do, but Grobens refuses to pay for a portion of my rent a car fees. I had to pay $700 in total for the rent a car. ALL IN ALL NOT RESPECTABLE BUNCH.
Worst Shop Ever! – I had 2 unfortunate encounters with them over the past 6 years. The first time was after a front end collision and Geico recommended me to go to this shop to get my car repaired. The repair was quick, but when I picked up the car, my headlights didn't work. Turned out they didn't even hookup the electrical connectors. 2 Months later, the paint on the front bumper started to bubble. Having seen their incompetence, I did not bother going back and have them repaint it.
The second time I was rear-ended by some jackass who had Geico. So Geico admitted 100% at fault and told me to go there to get an estimate. Once I got there, they looked over my bumper and told me they will replace it (mind you, it was only minor damages with a few scratches), but get this, they will only pay half the cost of the new bumper, while I will be responsible for the other half. When asked why, I was told because there were existing scratches. I refused and reminded them that their responsibility is to get my car back to its original shape. So I don't care how they do it, if that requires just fixing the damages done by the other driver, I will be happy with that. They told me flat out that is impossible. Told me fixing it will cost them too much money. So long story short, after talking to everybody there and pretty much got nowhere, I ended up having my mechanic fix it, for about the same low-ball payment they paid me.
So as you can see, these guys work for Geico and not for you. So beware when going there.
Not all its Cracked up to be – I was told by Geico to go to this shop. Read the only review they had online and all seemed well. The tow trucker seemed to like them as well. Well it seems I was caught in a circle of people just trying to get the money. I have been told everyday for the past week my car will be ready tomorrow. Still the car sits waiting suspension parts and assembly. How in the world would they tell me it would be ready when they havent even assembled the car?
On top of that they told my my alignment is off due to a bad Strut. A bad strut??? Since when does a bad strut have anything to do with aligning a car? I had told them it needed a new control arm because it was bent, they said no its the strut. Ok wont argue.
Still waiting on Suspension parts after trying to align the car with a new strut? Then was told the car was finished other then that. When I asked more details they stated the lights not on the fender lining is not on as well. So.... Does that count as being done? I would seriously consider your options. If you can afford a rental for this long go for it I suppose.
