I have purchased appliances from this company for many years because they are local and I get service that is not available from box stores, even if it cost more. I bought a gas stove and a few years later there was a gas leak and the gas company shut off the whole house because there was no safety valve installed. I called Earl B. Fiedens and their service manager Tim Dean told me I had to wait over a week before they could come and repair my stove. When I told him we have no hot water etc. he said it was not his fault that we broke the stove. When I told him this was unacceptable he told me he didn’t care if we ever bought from him again and to find someone else to fix it.
I purchased a refrigerator and a 3 year extended warranty 10 months ago. Feiden will not honor the warranty because they can't get the parts. After talking to other appliance dealers in the area, parts have been hard to get for over a year and they will not provide an extended warranty. So, despite knowing it would be impossible to honor the warranty, they sold it to me anyhow. I asked for a refund of the warranty cost and they just said, no can do. That was even while I was there looking to buy a replacement fridge. I walked out. Don't go there. They are unscrupulous.
I wish I'd read the other reviews on this site before I went there.
Buyer Beware! This company does not stand behind the products they sell. I don't know what's happeneing to this business - we have bought several appliances here over the years and had always been satisfied. However, when we recently purchased a high-end low-water washing machine, we immediately started having problems. The clothes did not come out clean and some of them were actually damaged. We contacted both the sales department and the service departments at Feiden's and have basically been told flat out they they will do absolutely nothing for us since the machine appears to be working properly. All we wanted to do was to exchange it for a different machine that would clean properly and not damage our clothes. I'm quite sure they would not have lost a single dime on the transaction and they would have kept a loyal customer. Despite wanting to 'buy local' we will never spend another dime at his local company. Appliance chain stores, here we come!
Run away screaming... – This place is a total retail train wreck. Spent a small fortune on a refrigerator, they've been back over a dozen times, and it still doesn't work. Their affect,... "Oh well..." Only sorry this won't allow NO stars.
Worst Service EVER! – To make a long story short, I spent a whole lot of money on some of the nicest appliances money can buy. I was given a lot of song and dance, with a lower price and a good sales pitch. However from the moment i payed the bill i was put through shear hell.
I also find it funny the only positive review they have here seems to be one of their salesman patting himself on the back...
Professional Brands, Good Prices. – We bought a Capital 30" range and a floor model Leibherr 30" refrigerator. Guy Jordan was more than courteous and professional and his product knowledge is excellent. If you want cheaper stuff and a sales staff with limited product knowledge, go to Lowes.
As far as price, they were better than most anyone else and they are willing to bargain a little. We have had a few small problems like the crisper drawer having a chip in it but one call to Guy and a new one is on the way even though this was a floor model. He said it would be under waranty.
Overall, a very good experience. Make sure you talk to Guy Jordan, he is one of the most knowledgeable and customer service oriented salespeople I have ever dealt with.
25% restocking fee on instock items – I'm not sure how they charge you a restocking fee on an instock small kitchen appliance that was coming from their warehouse. I never even touched the item, and I wanted to cancel the order. They want to charge me a 25% restocking fee even though I never even touched let alone opened it. Is this a fair business practice? They also are not very helpful about what is different between some products. I will not shop there again!
Worst Customer Service Ever – Do not buy anything from this company, unless you want to be continually frustrated. We've had problems with every single appliance we purchased from them, and their attitude has been "so?" They're very good at selling, and absolutely abysmal at maintaining. If I did my job as poorly as they do theirs, I'd have a permanent place on the unemployment line.
There's nothing worse than a company that sells top of the line items, but provides bottom of the barrel repair service. Phooey on Feiden!!
