A beat-heavy discotheque built on the ashes of a deliciously seedy, bowling-alley shaped bar. – The Scene:
For decades, Bogie's was the nerve-center of Albany's live music community, offering an easy stage for national, regional and local acts to make their concert mark on the Capital Region's collective musical consciousness. That all changed, however, a few years back when the place was shuttered for a few months, then re-emerged fabulously from its chrysalis as an entirely new creature. And we need to stress the renovation impact: if you'd seen Bogie's in its grubby heyday, you wouldn't know the joint now. Hell, they even put doors on the bathrooms! What'll they think of next? Well, a dress code, for starters. And then some imported DJ's from New York City and Florida's happening dance scenes. Then, oh, let's say you toss in a lot of college students in skimpy, sweat-friendly clothes, some cheap beer, and reasonable cover charges. Whaddya got? We not quite sure, but we like it.
Must Have Drinks:
Long Island Ice Tea, White Russian.
