Giovanni's Fresh Fish & Gallery – Very curtious and helpful staff. Easy to order and don't wait long for your order, always hot and freshly made. My family and I enjoy going to Morro Bay for Fish and CHips at Giovanni's.
# 1. In fresh seafood – Hey Gio. Giovanni's Fish Market,
To let you know, the last order we received from your Market was the best
and was a hit with the guests, everyone wanted to know where we got such
fresh Clams, Oysters, Cod and Clam chowder, ( I didn't tell the secret about
Chowder ) And for $100. bucks or less you can feed 10 to 15 guests.
We have ordered seafood from Alaska, Australia and points between, yours
is so fresh, clean and far less money than some far away.
And thank you for putting this order on FedEx not the Brown one, 3 hrs. earlier. Your order dept. if something doesn't look right they will phone and
let you know. Some 50 yrs. ago or so I would go to Morro and fish
w/ Capt. Jack. Thank you again for the very best in Seafood. More later.

Love, love, love Giovanni's – This is my place for fresh fish. Giovanni's never fails me! Great variety and wonderful service. I love to stop for grilled fish tacos, eat outside and enjoy the Morro Bay vibe. Giovanni's is always on our list when we have guests from out of town.
The Best Ever Fresh Seafood by the Ocean – Customer service ---very personal and upfront---the best wine and seafood shipped that I have experienced ever! Only wishing now to visit Morro Bay and meet Gio and dine in! Thanks Gio for all you have done to personalize my orders---You are the best!
Very good experience – .Giovanni's is a great place to buy fresh fish. Will get your order out to you with no hesitations, They are great.
Best fresh fish on the CC – Giovanni's has a great fresh fish selection from the Central Coast and beyond. Sushi grade Ahi, Mussles, to EPIC Spicy Crab DIP, not to mention good chowder to take home on a cold night! If you like fish Giovanni's is the place to go... Great staff and great fish... ENJOY
Over Promise, Under Deliver – The problem with great expectations are great disappointments. We recently moved to the central coast from SLC Utah, and were morning the loss of the Market Street Grill. You could buy great fresh seafood (from Utah-go figure), and prime cuts of beef. When we moved here, my wife needed to get her fresh seafood fix, so we started searching for local markets. After going to their website, we were sold and anticipated greatness from Giovannis. What we found was sub-par. Frozen fries? C'mon, shame on you guys! My wife was disappointed as to the skimpy portions of the fish and chips, as well as to the blandness of everything. I think they probably were on top at one point in the game, but are now probably resting lazily on past glory. On the bright side, great location, views and service.
I'd like to address your concerns one by one, because I am surprised at your comments. First off Frozen fries are pretty common place, in fact studies show that over 95 percent of restaurant use them, because quality is typically better than fresh.. Secondly our portions are known as the biggest in Morro Bay, our Fish &Chips weighs in at a hefty HALF Pound (all are portioned to the ounce) If you can find one bigger in Morro Bay I'll pay for it. I sure you you come try us again, because either we had a really bad day, or you went to the wrong place.. Just take a look at the line here on a saturday, and that should speak volumes.. :) Thanks! Gio
Are We All Talking About The Same Restaurant? – Since, there is only one review that is even fairly recent I'm thinking things have changed at Giovanni's. One thing that HAS changed seem to be the wait. We didn't wait at all. But it was 3pm on Monday so that probably is a factor. However, if we HAD waited for this food I would have little else positive to say as the service was prompt and friendly. The food was so below average. Especially for a place that is on prime water front property on the Central Coast of California! My fish and chips were hot nothing. Everything was bland and had little flavor. The few things that did have flavor had BAD flavor. The tartar sauce tasted like something from a jar and I could have sworn there was cinnamon in the cocktail sauce. The fish was fresh but was completely bland. The shrimp and scallops were overcooked. The fries are a joke--more hot nothing and freeze dried to boot. All for 10 bucks and the portions were skimpy. My husband said his burger was ok but Carl's Jr. was better-not a rave review. We did buy some shrimp from the store which is very nice and had a great selection but the shrimp smelled "shrimpy" and not so fresh but tasted fine....still. This was such a disappointment! We had heard such great things--even the glass of wine I had was bad and we ended up spending almost $30. Completely uninspired food. Go for the atmosphere and view but this wasn't just a chef's "bad day"--I think Giovanni's has gone downhill.
Sorry to hear about your recent trip over, I'd like to invite you for a private lunch on me, and we can go over what you didn't like, and how we can fix the problems in your view.. Please call me directy at (805) 772-1276. Thanks! Giovanni-
Fresh Fish – Excellent fish dinner and the service was very good especially since it was real busy. they were extra nice to my kids.
Best fresh fish-local, not farmed! – Giovanni's is the best location to buy fresh fish. They have real salmon, not arme with color added! They will special order anything for you and pack on ice for free!
