It may sound like the newest Nordic grunge band sweeping Ballard, but thankfully, it’s something we could use a little more of around here: authentic Thai cuisine. Named after the motion of rocking a pestle to grind spices, Pestle Rock is filled with the sweet smells and dishes of Isan (Northeast) Thai cuisine. The pretty aesthetic dotted with exposed brick, wood beams and shutter facades (you’ll have to see for yourself) will make you forget about the space’s former incarnation--Snoose Junction Pizzeria—while the indigenous spicy flavors will make you forget all about the now defunct Thaiku. Okay, the Opium Den was cool.
