It doesn't get better than this! – I totally just spent one of the most marvelous days ever at the Santa Fe Day Spa. First came a wonderful hour long massage with a very knowledgeable and professional young lady named Melonie, (she was amazing) then came the hair. (I'm always afraid of this part) My stylist was Kirby. I am a senior, I've had lots of stylists before and this young lady was at the top of her game, her advice, knowledge and expertise are superior. She was well mannered and thoughtful and I have to say my hair has never looked this good. I can not believe the color she recommended looks this great, so if you want to look amazing go to Santa Fe Day Spa and ask for Kirby!!!
Fabulous experience – My husband got me a "total escape" package for mother's day and my day at the spa was, in fact, a total escape.
I started with a massage by Michael, and honestly, it was the best one I've ever had. He was extremely professional but also friendly. I hate a "mushy" massage, and this was anything but. It was exactly the right amount of firmness and he truly worked out all my knots and tension.
While waiting for the next service, I was given a mimosa to drink - ahhhhh!
I then moved on to a facial and it was incredibly soothing. My skin has never felt as clean and soft!!
After the facial, it was time for some fruit and then my lunch - the yummiest waldorf chicken salad!
Just as I was finishing, it was time for my manicure by Carol. She did a fabulous job taming my nasty cuticles. After she was done with my hands, it was time for my toes. And it was an incredibly relaxing pedicure!!!!
All in all, I was completely pampered and taken care of. I would absolutely recommend the spa to any of my friends and will most certainly go back!!
Good Massage – This is a great place to get a massage if you get Matt! He was very professional and I really enjoyed the hour massage. The temperature in the room was nice. The lighting was dim and relaxing. I don't remember music, so if they played some I was indifferent to it.
You pay for a spa experience so it isn't the cheapest place I've been and it is not centrally located for me.
I plan to go again soon for another massage b/c I enjoyed the relaxing environment and Matt's massage.
Totally relaxing and just what I wanted.
my guys left!! – they are all gone...... apparently all the good service providers are leaving this spa. 2 of mine recently left i was told!! BOTH of them. a hairdresser that my friends used left a few months ago and had been there for years. should tell you something about this place?!
SO BAD!! – I went there a few weeks ago. Honestly, the worst place I have ever been. The girl who cut m y hair was fine but the whole time her and the other hair dressers complained about the owners. Truthfully, I hadnt heard the best thigns about the place but had decided to try it anyway. It was so overpriced. The atmosphere is horrible and by the way the girls were talking the owners are horrible as well. For the price go to a real proffessional salon that is actually a good experience.
find the right person – this is my third time to santa fe in the past 4 months. i've been going for lash tinting. the first time, the woman got it all in my eyes and they burned for quite a while (i'd been getting my lashes tinted in europe for a few months, so i knew what was normal FOR ME... this was not). the second time i had lauren. she was SO NICE (seriously, i love her, and would go to her for anything except tinting) but i ended up with dye all over my face.
this time i went for a partial brazilian and a tint. i had elizabeth and she was fantastic. the only problem i had this time was that my appt was for 11:30, they thought it was 11:45, and i didn't end up going back until 11:55. so... make sure they get it right, i guess.
at any rate, my lashes look great and the wax was good. voila.
Great people and great service – When i went to santa fe day spa i thought it was wonderful and it was a great place to come too. i had my hair down many times from many of the girls and i can say going to many salons this is the only one that has stylists that do know what they are doing and work very hard to make me feel comfortable. the front desk girls do a great job and always make sure to say hello or asking me how i was doing. i enjoy every service i got and i cant wait for the next. also for the review that was given about heather, i think that was very rude and over the top. i have had heather do my hair and she does a great job, her trainning comes from floridas best schools. I can say that i will tell anyone that wants to know about santa fe day spa that its a great place .
Heather-hair stylist.....is TERRIBLE!!!! She lied to me and took my money and gave me bad haircut/color! – Here is the rest of my previous post......but the worst part was that when I went to check out.....Heather rang up the ticket and she never showed me a receipt with the breakdown of the prices of the services, etc and said "oh, that will be $300+"....I said "well, how much of that is not for the products Im buying?" She said "oh, you want to know that amount?" Well, of course! I'm not gonna tip you off of the cost of products....how rude! She said "$221" still without showing me a receipt. So I paid the $221 with the 15% tip of $33 and when she handed me the receipt I noticed something on it. She charged me $25 for the good smelling "conditioner" that I didnt ask for!! Also, she charged me $15 for flat ironing my hair....again, she never told me I would be charged for that!!!!! When I talked to her, she said "well, ive been trained by Redken and this is what we do to make sure the color lasts!". So I stupidly accepted it and walked out. After I got home, I thought about it and got mad! I called several times to speak to mgmt but they had Heather call me instead! She was very aloof to me when I explained how innapropriate she was with her charges, etc. She said I could come back in for a "store credit"....are you kidding me? I asked for the money to be put back on my card. After almost 2 weeks and speaking to the "owner-Gail" who could of cared less about what I had to say and didnt call me back when she said she would.....I finally got the refund. I even had to ask Heather for the refund of the tip I gave her for the conditioner and flat iron that I should have paid for. She gave me back $3, which wasnt even 15%!!! She did not refund the flat iron price either. I had even gone up there 2 or 3 times and was always told that "the managers are all gone for the day".....ya right! I was so mad about all this, that I returned all of the products I bought also. I dont want to have a dang thing to ever do with them ever again and I will tell everyone I know not to.
Heather-Hair Stylist stole my mpney by lying to me!!! Terrible mgmt, shady sale tactics, way overpriced! – I feel like I HAVE to write this to let everyone know to STAY AWAY from Santa Fe. I went there about month ago on a Saturday around 12 noon as a walk in. I didnt ask for anyone in particular and they right away walked me over to a sloppy appearanced girl named HEATHER. This was my hair stylist? Great, I thought. Her hair was parted into pig tails and looked like tacky. That right there is a pet peeve of mine b/c if the stylist's own hair looks terrible than I dont have much confidence that they will make mine look great. Also, her clothes were quite unappealing looking...another red flag to me. Also, she barely even tried to talk to me and I noticed that none of the other stylists even paid her any attention...another flag.
I talked to her about what I was wanting and looked through several magazines to point out pictures and tell her what I dont like also. We decided to do a angled bob and a highlight. She never mentioned prices to me. She was washing my hair and all of a sudden I smelled something really good. I asked "that smells good what is that?" She replied that it was some type of conditioner. She didnt mention anything else. She asked me if I wanted it flat ironed? I said "sure" b/c I had always had stylists at other salons do this. Again, no talk of price was mentioned. My hair style was nothing great to look at while I was there but it wasnt terrible.... until 2 days later when I washed it and tried to style it myself and it looked like garbage!!!! It was completely uneven and Ive had bobs before that were awesome but this one was very poorly cut. My color was also "copper" colored I was told my friends. It was not flattering. I was so upset I had to go call another salon in town and pay another $40-50 to have my cut done again and done right this time. And it was too soon to get another coloring session done. Even the stylist at the new salon talked about how poorly the cut and color was done. I had several friends tell me it looked bad.
Watch the prices they get you in packages. – I have gone to Santa Fe Day Spa numerous times. My first visit was about 3 years ago. I went for the "all day" package. The day started off good, but by the end of the day I felt as though I was being rushed out the door. I thought maybe it was just the day they were having so a few months later I returned for just a massage. Going for a simple service is great!!! Michael is wonderful!! I recently called to schedule the "total escape" to be told that because I requested Michael (whom I have used MANY times) that my price would be more. I had already done the math and the cost of the package was more than the total should have been anyway and now I'm being told that I'm going to pay more for the guy that I have used atleast 10 times?? I dont think so. My guess is they up the price of the packages because they think people wont notice and think they are getting a deal. I have found another spa who has the same package for less than half of what they charge. I only wish I would have do this before I spent over $1,000 there.
