Great service, I was told about Uptown Weave Cafe from two co- workers of mines & I just love them to death for the word of mouth. I went in on my lunch break & I was in & out in less than 45 mins. I'm natural & my hair looks like I have a relaxer with body, over pleased.
Very poor and unprofessional service! Do not visit this salon as you will be highly disappointed! Not to mention the daughter and her mother will try to fight you for not wanting to pay due to an unfinished job and bad service!
Ladies of Delta Sigma Theta-trust me! Tell a friend to tell a friend sorors, this place is ghetto and very hood!!
I just had to leave a good review about Uptown Weave Café, I heard about the salon from a very close friend of mines and I just had to give these ladies a try. The salon is very clean and refreshing, and not to mention there Tues & Weds specials I could not believe how nice and straight my hair was being that I am natural. I went in at 5 and was out by 6 and the ladies were so nice and friendly. Concept is great and from the looks of things Uptown Weave Cafe' is the place to go!
I just love this place, I'm always able to get an appointment even if it's last minute. I think Charlotte needs more salons like Uptown Weave Cafe, in and out with good service. The ladies are so nicccccccccce, normally salons don't have that welcoming feeling when u enter the salon. Affordable & Professional, thanks ladies thumbs up.
I will have to agree with Cantrell M. Uptown Weave Café atmosphere is very chic and welcoming, especially to be a small African American own business in the city which is just so far and few. I have been to this salon on numerous occasions and I have all good positive things to say about the staff and the salon. I was amazed from being greeted upon entering the salon by a very friendly receptionist and the front desk, she answered all of my question without hesitation, and I must say she was very professional. I did not have an appointment therefore I knew it would be a long wait, however I was in and out on my lunch break, one hour.
There has been a time or two when the salon is so busy that I can't get in with my preferred stylist, but since all the ladies work is great sitting in any stylist chair works for me and that is a well needed trend in Charlotte, NC. I have not found a place that offers client free parking, consultations, drinks, wine and snacks so if you want to experience the difference give these ladies a visit you will be pleased.
Let me state first that I was a cosmetologist but have changed my career for health reasons. The salon itself is lovely. The atmosphere is city chic. Allison seems to have more availability than other uptown salons. However, there's a good reason for that.
The few times I have been inside, the product selection was sparse, especially for it to be called the Uptown WEAVE cafe. Also, the stylist who addressed me was sitting at the reception desk with a large comb in her hair on one ocasion and on another was braiding her own hair in the mirror and did not show any kind of decorum when consulting with me about a potential appointment. These things add up to a lack of professionalism and respect for a client. I went again and again with a co-worker hoping to see that it was not a trend, sadly, it is. As a cosmetologist, I was embarrassed. This lack of organization and professionalism says that her clients are not her priority and her sanitation is questionable and the condition of the reception desk tells me that her appointments are likely double booked or rescheduled due to lack of organization - a total disrespect to a client.
Finally, it speaks volumes that the owner states "Who can please everybody, no one it is impossible that's why we make it our business to call clients back within a few weeks after being serviced to make sure they are content with service they received." Quite frankly that is a disclaimer for what you will get based on the styles I have seen come out of Allison's chair. The braids are too chunky and create a football head look even when the client protests the technique. Too much hair is left out of the base which goes without saying with natural hair is a disaster even after the client expresses discontent. She does not coach clients as to the proper hair to get or go "a step and beyond to please, satisfy, and cater to each and everyone on our client" as she states by making sure to provide the proper hair or color her clients require even though, I must reiterate, the salon does not carry the products.
Most clients will simply not return, but my coworker has given Allison more than enough chances to redeem herself. I personally have been disgusted for too long and will never give this salon my business nor recommend it to anyone who asks.
Great Honest Stylist
First and foremost, I would like to say thanks to all of Uptown Weave Café Clients that have and continue to support us, we appreciate you So Much!....without you there would be no Uptown Weave Café'. We are the home of the 99$ Hair Extensions - located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, which is one of the reasons we go a step and beyond to please, satisfy, and cater to each and everyone on our client. However, every now and then we do get a client that we just can not please - we get that. Who can please everybody, no one it is impossible that's why we make it our business to call clients back within a few weeks after being serviced to make sure they are content with service they received. We NEVER braid the base of our sew-in straight to the back NEVER, we Do use Dr. Miracle on over-processed, damaged or clients that have sensitive scalp issues, however we do have any professional product that you can name from A-Z. We do not promote relaxers when wearing Hair Extension, it just to risky and we tell ALL our clients not to get a relaxer before getting a sew-in it just a rule of thumb, from a honest staff. However, if a client must have it we do it....... clients rule. The ambiance is great at Uptown Weave Café', we don't charge extra for drinks, wine or snacks and we are affordable, honest, clean and friendly
Allie does a great job. She takes the time to make your hair look great.
