I have been to David's Bridal three times now and have had all acceptable experiences. The consultant's don't rush you when you are just starting out trying on gowns. They make me feel welcome and are honest with opinions when asked. Only downfall was trying to upsell (veil, accessories, credit card, etc.). This last time I went, I brought a woman who is engaged and developmentally disabled. The consultant was very polite with her and I was impressed.

Beautiful Dresses, Terrible Customer Service – I don't think I've ever written a negative review about a company before, but my appointment at this David's Bridal was 3 weeks ago, and I'm still upset over it.

I found a wedding dress that I absolutely loved on their website. I had made a first appointment to try it on by myself, but wanted to let some friends/family see it before I put my deposit down. The first appointment was fine, a little busy, but I had expected this so shortly after the holidays.

When I went back 2 weeks later, ready to put a deposit on my dress, I almost lost it. I am not a high maintenance kind of person, so I didn't really mind that my consultant was clearly overbooked (assisting at least 3 other groups). She was able to answer a lot of my questions, which I appreciated.

The problem came at the end of my appointment. I had met with the same consultant both times and made it crystal clear on numerous occasions that I was not interested in their credit card, and I wanted to utilize the layaway option. When she took me to order the dress (It had to be special ordered in a petite size), she told me I could not do layaway, and would either have to pay the entire cost up front, or apply for their credit card (again, after having been told repeatedly that I did not want to go this route). I tried to discuss any other options, but she was adamant this was the only way. After this consultant embarrassed me in front of friends and family by not listening to a single thing I said, someone piped up from behind the counter and informed me I was able to do the layaway, they would just wait to order the dress until the balance is paid in full (something I had asked this consultant about).

I have not received my dress yet, and will not until July, but I am very wary of using them again. Had it not been for the fact that they had this dress that I loved so much, I would have walked out right there. As it is, I've advised my bridesmaids to go elsewhere, and I most certainly will not be using their alterations department when the time comes.

In summary, be very wary when dealing with them. I'm still upset about my experience, and will definitely not recommend anyone shop here.

Terrible Service! – I never write bad reviews about companies, but I have to say that my experience at David's Bridal was short and awful.

My wedding is in September and I went in to look at dresses. The woman at the desk could obviously not be bothered and rudely asked if I had an appointment. I responded that I didn't and this was the first time I've ever shopped for a wedding dress. She then proceeded to tell me that she didn't even know if anyone would be able to help me that day, that I needed to make an appointment and that even if I found a dress I liked I'd probably have to special order, which would take 5-8 months.

Now, all this information was fine, had it been delivered kindly. But the woman made it obvious that she did not want to deal with me. I'm sure I'm not the only person who buys a wedding dress 3 months before the wedding! It was a really special day for me and she made me feel like I was absolutely crazy for not planning everything years in advance. I just would have appreciated a little professional kindness.

I ended up finding a beautiful dress for my day and worked with staff who were more than willing to spend time with me. But I will NEVER go back to David's Bridal and I hope that others had a better experience.

Nice dresses, AWFUL Service – I feel bad writing a negative review, but the service I received in purchasing/altering my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses was unacceptable.

Planning a wedding is fun and exciting, but when you are met with rude, unfriendly sales people, it can be upsetting.

I picked up my dress from alterations today, and when I put it on, I wanted to cry, I was so uncomfortable. The bust area was too tight, but the waist area was too loose, so it kind of slid down a bit (it is strapless). I said something to the woman, and the first thing she said was "well, I will pin it, but it will cost you $50 to change it." I nearly lost it on the woman... but long story short they fixed it (Thanks to Maria, she was absolutely wonderful, I don't know how she works with all these miserable women).

Be wary when purchasing your dress from here, and I highly recommend you stay away from their alterations all together...

Great, personalized service – Elizabeth, the lady who helped me find my dress, was absolutely wonderful. I was a little overwhelmed and thought I'd just go in to browse, but she was able to accommodate me without an appointment! I found my dress in just an hour, and walked out of the store with it and a few accessories shortly thereafter. The staff were warm, friendly and reassuring.

I'm recommending this place to the rest of my bridal party - it was quick and easy, but classy enough to suit the occasion. Lastly, my dress was MUCH cheaper than I thought it would be and it's perfect!

great service!!! – i had a great experience purchasing my wedding gown here. the only thing that may damper their service is if you do not make an appointment. they are always full of appointments and it is their job to be 1 on 1 with them and give them 100% of their attention at all times. if you don't then you may be waiting for them to get a free moment. the person i was working with made me feel comfortable and i had sooo much fun trying on everything. she was extremely professional and had great ideas. she was honest and told me what looked best on me and not just "that looks great" because they wanted to make a sale. they had great discounts when you bought all your accessories and one time. i saved a few hundred dollars just from that!! i recommend this to anyone. i can't wait to get the mothers and bridesmaids there to get their dresses as well. make sure you make that appointment and you will be treated like a queen.

A chic, sleek boutique, it's not. But those willing to look carefully will likely find a big-time bargain. The staff is helpful and knows the merchandise but doesn't provide extensive one-on-one attention or advice. Stores (particularly on weekends) can be swamped with brides-to-be. David's specializes in beaded satin A-lines and simple lace sheaths that just hit the $500 mark. Most labels are tasteful but of medium-quality: Gloria Vanderbilt, Lady Eleanor, Oleg Cassini and the likes.
