WORST prom store!! The staff are SO horrible. I know a friend who's daughter has worked there in the past and I know that the boss and older ladies talk very poorly about the teenage staff members. The store can be compared to the middle school hallways with how much gossip goes on and how much work does not get done! This store is not recommended if you are looking for a fun, gossip, care-free environment!
NEVER AGAIN!! I can't believe how rudely my daughter, her friends & I were treated @ the Jacqueline Shoppe in Williamsville. The 1st time I wrote it off to it being a busy day. My girls were told that 5 dresses were the limit & they couldn't try on more. They found 2 beautiful dresses almost right away so it was no big deal but what if dress # 6 was the one. Dresses range from $300 to close to $700 so I'd think you'd let people try them on. But when 2 of them dropped over $600 on prom dresses & brought in 2 more girls to shop when we were paying for them & picking them up, you think they wouldn't treat us like something you wipe off your shoe. The sales lady double checked the receipt to make sure we paid for our dresses before we took them even though the owner rang us out in front of her. They put 1 of the girls dresses away even though they were in the appropriate place on the try on rack & were fawning over 2 other girls who came in after us when they wouldn't help 1 of my girls zipper her dress. The zipper was damaged . When the sales lady went to hang it up she started carrying on about the broken zipper & now they were going to have to fix it. It was already stuck!! I'm sorry I wore jeans & the girls wore sweatshirts to their oh so fancy store, but you had no problem charging over $330 on my credit card... It worked just like the lady in fur coat's. I would have walked out if the girls weren't madly in love with their prom dresses... If the girls were being loud or goofy I could understand but they weren't. They weren't trying on an excessive number or asking for anything... They were just sooooo rude. Think the saleswomen who wouldn't help Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Thank God we don't need alterations from them!!!!! SO MAD!!!!!
Great experience, very helpful staff – I went to the Jacqueline Shoppe the other day with my mother searching for a special occasion dress for her to wear to my wedding. We were not really sure what we were looking for and had no idea what was available to us. As soon as we walked into the shop we were greeted by a few friendly sales associates who asked us if we needed any help. We told them how clueless we were when it came to mother of the bride dresses and one of them led us to their selection. She informed us that all of the dresses could be ordered in different sizes and colors and to look for a style we liked. They have a great selection of dresses to fit every style! We picked out a couple that we liked and headed to the dressing room. The sales lady stood by us the entire time my mother was trying on dresses, zipping and hanging them for us and offering great advice. She answered all of our questions about sizes and colors and was very patient and pleasant the entire time. We were there for a long time and tried on quite a few dresses but were not yet ready to place an order. The sales associate gave us some websites to further help our search and told us to call if we had any questions. We left the shop feeling very informed and will definitely be returning to buy my mothers dress! Overall, great experience, the staff was wonderful and very very helpful, the selection was great and the atmosphere was cheerful. I will DEFINITELY suggest The Jacqueline Shop to all of my friends.
Worst shopping experience of my life! – I wish I could rate this zero stars. I am writing this review on behalf of my mother, and I hope you will take the time to read her experience. My little sister is getting married in august, and my mom was searching for a mother of the bride dress for the occasion. On a Friday afternoon, after leaving the hair salon, my mother decided to give The Jacqueline Shop a try. They were a bit busy with prom season and wedding season coming, but an associate kindly lead her to the mother of the bride dresses, and when my mom remarked that there weren't many in her size, the associate told her any of the dresses could be ordered in another size, and she could take them to the dressing room to hold up and get an idea. That, however, was the end of any kindness. With three dresses over her arm, my mom approached the fitting rooms, as another customer walked out of one. The woman made a comment that a dress she had on would look great with my moms complexion! So, as the sales associate who was assisting this woman came back, my mom said she would like to see what the dress the other customer was wearing would look like. The associate looked at the dress, looked and my mother, and snarked " that dress WILL NOT fit you." my mom replied that she understood that, she only wanted to hold it up and look at it against her skin. To which the associate replied " this is a 700$ dress." again, my mom had no intentions of putting the dress which was not her size, on. She merely wished to hold it up to herself. The associate forced the sleeves over my mom arms, with her purse still on her shoulder, in the middle of the shop. She took one look at my mother, who at this point was humiliated, and said "this is not the dress." took it off her arms, and returned to sucking up to the previous client. My mother left belittled, humiliated, and reduced to near tears. This is NOT the way the search for a special occasion gown should go. I called the shop after talking to my tearful mother, and the owner responded later in the evening. During this conversation I was met with indignancy, ignorance, and no remorse whatsoever. The owner talked over the top of me, at one point yelled at me, and told me my mom made the story up. I also discovered that the rude associate....was the OWNER!! How a woman as rude and crass as she is still in business eludes me. I hope that after reading this, you as a consumer will decide not to step foot in a shop which is sure to treat you this terribly.
Very nice! – The staff is very friendly and sweet. It's nice to be able to go and support local business! The prices are higher than what you could buy on the internet, however, you will not be able to get the personal service. For the little extra, why not drive there, try it on, have it altered and be treated nice! Great experience! Thanks!
Would never return or recommend! – Upon entering the store, I was completely ignored by two older sales associates behind the desk. That made me frustrated but I continued to look around. I found a few dresses and hauled them to the dressing room, by myself, without anybody offering any help as they watched me. After trying on two dresses and coming out to the 3-way mirrors, I needed assistance with the third dress. The associates just stood there from the front desk chatting with each other. I asked, very annoyed to them if somebody could help me lace up the back of the third dress I had on. I was told "I'll be with you in a minute" while she stood there talking with the other woman. The associate came over as if I was a bother and was suddenly very interested in me purchasing the dress that day. Very snobby staff, as well as pushy. I would never recommend this store, or ever step foot in it again! Spend your money at a store that appreciates it's patrons!
Worst Shopping Experience Ever!!!! – The owner was so pushy! She was sooo snoby! I was trying on a dress, before I could look in the mirror she was like take it off it does not look right. She was so mean, I mean even if something did not look right to her I personally like it on my body!
Very UnHappy – I took my sister prom dress shopping and yes we arrived almost at close time although we were quickly greeted by a very unfriendly lady who told us they were closing so we had to hurry up. So we quickly looked around in the dark due to very poor lighting. Then we were greeted by another lady who explained to us that we were kind of late and they were closing so if we wanted to my sister could try on one dress. Well my sister didn't see much of anything she liked but it was hard to see in there so we decided to leave. Upon arrival the lady that just told us we could try on one dress told us she had a long day and still had to vacuum, so she probably would not get out of there for at least an hour. So your telling me you won't let a costumer try on a few dresses if you still have an hour of cleaning to do? Lock the door and let those who are in there finish their shopping. You just lost a sale due to your rude associates, and poor costumer service skills. I would not recommend this place to anyone!
Nice shop--lots to choose from! – Stumbled across this shop while checking out another down the street. Very nice selection of dresses in a large range of prices! Some even 70% off! Sales clerks helped girls into dresses, gave good advise and made our prom dressing trip very enjoyable. Tried on many, many dresses without any complaints from the store staff. Very nice & knowledgabel--even checked their book to see if the dresses we wanted were bought by anyone else going to the same prom! Highly recommend Jacqueline's!
great dress shop for prom dresses – The sales associates were helpful and friendly. I took two 16 year old girls in there looking for prom dresses. They tried on many dresses - the associates were right there to help with different sizes or dresses.
They were extremely professional and patient!! Would go there again!
