RUDE, POMPOUS & ARROGANT!!!! – RUDE!!! Stuck up cashiers...had to ASK for a bag for my products (....was given one begrudgingly). These ARROGANT overly-done check out girls need to spend less time putting on their face paint & their talon-like acrylic nails & spend some time taking CUSTOMER SERVICE LESSONS!!!! I recommend this pompous salon ONLY IF YOU LIKE BEING TREATED LIKE DIRT.
This Place Is Awesome – Kelly did my facial and massage. She was prompt, courteous and attentive. We shared in conversation and she did not seem fake at all. She is one of most polite persons I have dealt with in customer service.
The atmosphere was great. The place was clean and comfortable.
I would recommend this place to anyone.
Dissapointed – I gave this place a bunch of tries w/ different stylists. The last time, was the last straw.
The lighting is absoloutely horrible for any coloring services. IOnce you get outside, you are met w/ a catastrophe. Maybe that's why they do it, since none of their stylists can do highlights or color.
Two of the girls I went to were very personable. It's a shame they lack in skills. The third girl I went to was like pulling teeth to make conversation and once again, the skills weren't there.
I'm still looking for a competent salon in Rochester. It really sucks having to go out of the area just to get my hair done.
Good Service – When I went in for my appointment, I needed both my hair and makeup complete for a important event. The hair stylist (Charlotte), was so good to work with. She listen to my every word and ensured all everything was perfect. Such a pleasant girl. If you need your hair or make-up done, request her, I will
Men's Club -Save your money – My wife got me a gift card to the Men's Club at S-Ego as a birthday present. After I got home I found out she had requested and paid for a FULL pedicure and an express facial.
My experience started by having to wait 50 minutes before they started my "treatments" because they were running behind. They gave me a 20 minute pedicure and a 20 minute facial. Both were mediocre at best. I cashed out using the gift card. I assumed the gift card was enough to cover the treatments. They asked if I wanted to split the tip between the two services. I just wanted to get out so I said fine. I later found out that the charge for the pedicure and facial was $50. The gift card was for $75. That means the tip was 50% for each service!
When I got home and told my wife how much they charged for the service and how long I waited she was livid! She was upset that her gift to me had been such a disappointment. She called S-Ego and asked to speak to a manager. Nobody was available so she gave the details of my experience to whomever answered the phone. They said a manager would call back.
We are still waiting for that call...
Beautiful Decor but disappointing from then on – I made an appointment for a body treatment service and a 60 minute massage. I was greeted at the desk and directed to a very beautiful spa lounge area. After waiting for approximately 20 minutes the tech came over and escorted me to a room to change for my services. I felt slightly uncomfortable in the outfit that i was given to wear during my service as it did not fit me at all. we proceeded with the treatment and i was left to sit wrapped up in my treatment. I enjoyed the treatment itself but, didnt enjoy how the employee break room was right outside my treatment room. employee conversations could be heard, and it became obvious that my forgot she was doing my service. wrapped up for far longer than i should have been, i ended up totally missing my massage appointment. I was so upset, i paid for my service and left.
Quick and Easy Appointments but disappointing results – Mediocre service, phenomenal prices. No wonder appointments are so available. Would not recommend or return.
You might be disappointed – I went to Shear Ego twice. The first was great. The stylist listened to me and helped straighten out a mess created by another salon. When I returned, my original stylist was not available. The second stylist did not introduce herself or LISTEN to what I wanted at all and seemed much more interested in getting me out the door so she could leave. I was also in and out within 30 minutes, including wash, cut and full style, which is unusual for the amount of hair I have. I left feeling and looking as if I did not get a hair cut at all. I will not return as there seems to be an inconsistency in the staff skills and I'm worried about receiving another stylist who is not going to listen.
Also, there has always been a line of 3-4 people at the register when I am trying to check-in or pay. This indicates that they need to re-think the amount of people at the front desk.
Nice place, but average – This place is always good for a last-minute treatment. I've been twice for body treatments and had a very nice, skilled therapist both times.
