simply great – I go to luch at this place once or twice a week, the food is awesome, the service is lighting fast. What else is there to say for a busy guy who wants something good yet not slow like a traditional reestaurant it is perfect. Plus they are open real late til 2 or 3 am
simply the best – If you live in LA and haven't been you're simply missing out on the best brazilian food in los angeles.
Terrifying management. – What do we expect from a place knowing for it's good food quality ?....Courteous service,respect,patience,etc..
That was not what i've got from a short curly hair manager who does NOT have the quality of being patient to those who don't know the menu as well as she probably does. One single question about the menu is enough for this unprofessional woman gives you a BIG attitude !!!...Read the menu, baby !!!...That was what she said...I'm NOT your baby !!!
No more Bossa Nova for me and all my friends.
By the way managers working in US should speak english !!
Bossa Salad: makes salad a MEAL! – I cannot remember ordering anything other then the Bossa Salad in the past year. It is that good, you never get tired of it! The romaine salad is huge and topped with fresh chopped ingredients: tomatoes, almonds, onions, gorgonzola and homemade croutons. The homemade dressing is the prefect blend of sweet and tangy, you really only need to dip your fork in for a huge flavor burst. If you get it topped with the grilled salmon, it is a full meal!
Money hungry service. – I've came to this restaurant for several years. The food is delicious and inexpensive, but if you DON'T order one of the expensive entree's OR you DON'T order a drink... PREPARE TO BE IGNORED. the servers are strictly business, they don't care about your experience, they just want their tip. disgusting.
great pizza – you have not lived until you have tried victors special pizza it is orgasmic, I always take my family here when they are visiting. honestly the best pizza in LA, careful though, not all of there locations have pizza ovens so double check first, the sunset store has one though
Chicken Lasagna – They deliver. They're open late night. And they oven bake tomatoes on top of their on-the-house bread. The chicken lasagna is one of my favorite lasagnas anywhere. It's massive (size and flavor). The sangria is great and they have a great list of imported beers. Only con can be the wait but that should be indicative of what you're in line for.
Don't go here – Restaurant is INFESTED with COCKROACHES!!!!!!! The biggest cockroaches you have ever seen! They are on the walls, tables, floor, counters, bathrooms. INFESTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not real Brazilian food – Being a Brazilian, I feel obligated to inform everyone that this is not Brazilian food. It's not horrible food. Just nothing resembling Brazilian cuisine. If you want authentic Brazilian (which is some of the best food in the world) I recommend "Pampas Grill" in the farmer's market/The Grove on 3rd and Fairfax
One of my favorite local spots – Bossa Nova is around the corner from my house, and so I've eaten there or gotten takeout a number of times. I almost always end up getting something from the Brazilian grill or sandwich sections of the menu. (The latter is more popular with me when I'm ordering take-out.) My wife seems to always get the pasta. We've never been disappointed with our food, not even when we order take-out. I'm sure it helps that we order take-out, not delivery, and pick it up right when we were told it would be ready by.
The downside is that it can feel a little loud & bustling, but that's not a big deal because it's not like we've ever had to wait for table. Then again, I don't remember us ever eating there on a Friday or Saturday night. In fact, the food seems to go hand-in-hand with the atmosphere with its bold flavors and festive feel: I kind of feel like I'm eating my favorite backyard barbeque cooked by my Brazilian uncle (who doesn't actually exist).
In the bottom line, I think there's a very good match between the food you're served and the price you pay. It's nice to find a tasty spot in Hollywood that's not about the hype.
