Do not rent from C.R. O'Neil. Their customer service was absolutely awful; all the staff are unprofessional, rude and inattentive. Good luck getting any maintenance request done quickly or at all.
Also, they like to use email to notify renters of their entry. Better be glued to your email if you care about strangers randomly showing up and walking around your apartment.
As a property owner, working with this company has been a horrible experience and has only made the process of renting my condo incredibly stressful. The managers lack basic communication skills. I was informed that a tenant was approved for rental and would be moving in soon. Weeks start to roll around-heard nothing from the company about updates with the tenant, clarification on payments so I called only to find out that the tenant decided not to move in. NO ONE from the company contacted me with this information-no call, no email, nothing. It has now been almost 6 months-no renter yet. Aside from the poor communication skills and lack of respect for the customer, this company lacks efficiency, skills and strategy to move properties. I will never recommend this company to anyone, not even for the most basic task.
Completely disappointing and a huge waste of time. Called yesterday to inquire about a house for rent, and I specifically asked if anyone has been approved yet (that way, I don't waste my time completing an application & getting a money order for the app fee), & was told "no, we only have applications in process". I clarified myself several times, & was given the same answer. So, I completed an application & got a money order for the app fee & went down there this morning to turn it in @ the office, and was told that someone already got it & put their deposit down! So, I was pretty much lied to yesterday afternoon so that they could continue to collect application fees, even though they already approved someone for the house. Liars!
Horrible customer service – Was in the process of renting a house from them. Cindy, that works the front desk, is a very rude lady. I spent the majority of my day getting the paperwork that is they're responsibility to get, then to find out we need to get insurance on top of everything else because of our dog.
During the whole time of talking to the realitor showing the house, about how the yard would be good for our dog and what not, not once where we told about this extra insurance. To make things worse, back at the office when I dropped off paperwork to Cindy, she then stated that we had tried to "cover up" what dog we have. Which is not true, because in my inquaries about properties I always state the breed of dog we have.
Long story short, after being called a liar by the lady at the front desk, we told them to withdraw our application(which they still processed anyways). I wrote an email to them stating how their workers treat their customers,and not once did they try to make right or appoligize for how Cindy treated us. Needless to say we will never be renting from C.R. O'Neil. I wish I would have looked on this site before looking at their properties. The other people on here are right about the rude workers, and if it happens as much as it sounds like, they clearly don't care and aren't trying to change their business practices.
Good Apartments and management – i have rented from them for over 2 years. They fixed everything I asked for pretty quick. Nice and freindly, I like my apartment and they are open 7 days a week.
Unprofessional and Incompetent – They get no rating from me. I just had to give them one in order to continue.
I just became a tenant and cannot wait until my year is up. They do not return phone calls, they do not return emails. They do NOTHING but sit in the office and watch paint dry.
I have followed up on issues with my place for 30+ days and that includes phone calls, emails etc. Patty? Really? You don't answer or return calls? You think people are just going to go away and not follow up? That's how you do business? That's how you represent a company?
I sure wish I had read these reviews before I signed a lease. However, the countdown has begun. If I can get a hold of the Owner ... Mr. O'Neil himself? He will get an earful.
Deal at your own risk – Really terrible firm to deal with. Rude staff, unreliable agents. We had a pretty bad experience trying to rent something from them. They took our confidential information (unbelievable..sent SSNs via email), kept us in the dark about dealing with another party and finally ditched us at the last minute. We won't deal with them again and you too have been warned.
Excellent Rental Properties In Clintonville Area – I've worked for a renting agency before, so I understand the differences between good ones & not-so.
I was recommended to C.R. by a friend who had a good renter's experience with them before, and I can say that these people are an "excellent" management service for-sure. (Hence the 5-star rating)
I visited their office (hours are 9:30-5:30 Mon-Fri / Sat 9:00-3:00 / Sun 10:00-4:00), the lady at the front was very helpful & informative. I asked & arranged multiple appointments to see which properties I liked in-person with their rentals agent that day.
I found one that felt right. Application process only took 3-days & I moved in 2 days later. (A good renter's history helps)
Repairs are well-taken care-of. (Addressed within 7 days of submitting a form, in my experience)
Very professional, very attentive. I plan on renting from them for some time in the near future.
I figured I'd leave a review for them, since typically only angry 'problem tenants' who are in the process of being evicted take the time out of their day to review. (a few negative reviews out of +800 is usually a pretty good percentage)

Great staff and Nice Apartments – I have rented from several agencies over the years and this is the best one. They are open 7 days a week, have a freindly staff of people, and you do not have to wait long for maintenance or a response to questions.
Not many people give compliments on line but I felt I needed to as this company has gone above the normal for me several times.
Great property, crappy staff – The property was in very nice condition and decently spacious for the price, but the property manager was horrible. They do not respond at all to maintenance requests (the light in our kitchen did not work for about a year) and they come up with outrageous charges to your security deposit. We left the place in excellent condition and they claimed that we owed money for damages after we moved out. After threatening with a lawsuit and then actually filing one, we ended up settling out of court.
