Not so impressed – I didn't like it. I thought the food was nothing special. I loved the design inside and huge windows. I think that's what the money I paid was going towards.

Not impressed at all – I have been to the Grandview area several times for lunch, and had been looking forward to trying Spagio's. Having read reviews from this site, I thought it would be a great first date location. WRONG! The service was awful. Although we were promptly seated, it took quite some time before we were even asked for drinks. Then, after waiting a significant amount of time, we had to ask for someone to come back to take our orders. The menu was quite limited (unless you like pizza) and the portions were not very large. Neither my date nor I like the meals we ordered and, as someone had mentioned in a previous post, the decor leaves a bit to be desired. Overall, very disappointing.

great food hideous interior – Spagio is one of my favorite spots in town for great food. The interior, which I do not believe has not been updated since opening, continues to get uglier and uglier with the addition of miscellaious umbrellas and assorted junk. They really need to spend some money and reinvest in the restaurant using an interior designer that has some training. Again Love the food and do go often, but need dark glasses as to not have to look at the decor...

The restaurant/gourmet store credited with transforming sleepy Grandview Heights into a hot dining and entertainment destination. – The Scene
Designed with the help of local artists, the interior is an unexpected mix of modern objects and handsome wooden furniture and fixtures. The bar, warmed by the wood-fired pizza oven, is especially nice for winter dining. In warmer months, relax on the ample sidewalk patio.

The Food
Arriving from Europe in 1980, chef Hubert Seifert and his wife, Helga, first opened an upscale, international-foods market on quiet Grandview Avenue; soon, Hubert's talents and colorful personality made him this town's best-known chef. The food at Spagio has been known to vary, but if "Chef" is in the kitchen, you can count on a good experience. The menu is extensive and reflects his penchant for rolling Italian, Asian, Southwest and even traditional American touches into what he calls European and Pacific Rim cuisine. Pizzas, for example, come with house-smoked duck, chorizo, black truffle puree and more.

An Italian Gem! – Spagio is a great place to eat, and I am a little ashamed that I have lived in Columbus so long without trying it. They have excellent food (smoked chicken pasta and wood fired pizzas were great) and a nice selection of wine and beers. They have an attached wine/beer store called Spagio Cellars as well, where they host periodic tastings. Worth checking out if you are in the Grandview area.

Spagio Speculations – All I can say is wow! Spagio is the elite leader when it comes to Italian restraunts. The food is so good that even their plain spaghetti (even without sauce!) is a rare and delectible feast! Spagio is just better!

Impress your date – This ia a good restaurant to go on a first date. The food is good without making you broke, the atmosphere is romantic without being intimidating, and there are interesting shops nearby to explore afterward as you get to know your date better!
