Reviews for Ohio Theatre

Beautiful – We saw a ballet in this beautiful building. If you are not interested in the dance you can just sit and look at the threater for the whole evening. It is the most gorgeous building ever seen. Everything is decorated with great attention to detail. Of course there is less maintenance of architecture up high. But the view is more incredible once you find your seat. All together a most enjoyable place.

CAPA is Columbus' urban entertainment octopus. – History
Created in 1969 to save the Ohio Theatre, CAPA has grown into an internationally-recognized performing arts organization. Its goal is to get people downtown by offering a variety of classical and modern performances in interesting historic venues.

Arts Power
Backed by the power of more than 1,000 volunteers, CAPA not only owns and operates the Ohio Theatre (1928), but also purchased the Palace Theatre (1926). It renovated and runs the Southern Theatre (1896) as well.

Movies and Music and Theater, Oh My
Diversity is CAPA's forte. A good way to beat the summer heat is to hole up at the Ohio Theatre and watch "War of the Worlds" or a restored archival print of "Double Indemnity," shown during CAPA's summer movie series. CAPA also is known for its annual performances of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" at the Ohio. Even at the Columbus Zoo, you can't escape CAPA's long tentacles, where you can check out the animals and performers like Al Jarreau or the Neville Brothers at CAPA's Rhythm 'n' Zoo exhibit.
