Obviously NOT a Thai Chef. What a disappointment this place is! The first clue is suburban white college age waitresses instead of Asian servers. I ordered a shrimp stir fry for $13.95 which had only 5 shrimps...unbelievable rip off. Secondly, the server was very unattentive, sloppy looking, and not knowledgeable about the menu. The menu is WAY over priced for what is served--and the taste is very Americanized. It is VERY obvious that both the chef and owner are white Americans--the owner born and raised in Upper Arlington. Certainly will NOT be back to this dive.

Good lunch value. I have just moved to Columbus, OH about 3 months ago, and so far, this is the best thai place I have been to. Granted, I have only had lunches at Thai taste, the portion and the price for lunch is great. The service has always been fast, curteous and friendly.

Most importantly, the food is flavorful, vibrant, well balanced and just right.

It's not the best thai food I have ever had, but it is the best I've had in Columbus so far.

Try their fried bananas with coconut ice cream.

Hidden Gem in a Strip Mall. The outside of the shop is unadorned and makes the restaurant goer a little curious about what awaits you inside. The bar is the first thing you see when you come in, and then you get to the dining room. There are little awnings and umbrellas over the tables and booths respectively. I thought it was very comfortable and charming. The menu is diverse, offering traditional curries and noodle dishes. Each dish's heat level is customizable, and according to our waitress, they make the chili oil/paste on site.

We opted for the "Hot" level for our dishes which was plenty spicy. I might go another level higher on heat next time if I'm feeling masochistic. Our waitress said she generally opts for the highest heat option (yeow!) but be careful, there are no refunds if your food is too spicy.

I had a beef dish with onion, water chestnuts and carrot in a brown garlic sauce. My only complaint is that my entree consisted of about 60% onions. It's not their fault however, and I could have easily asked for less or no onions. Next time! The spice left my lips tingling, but in a delightful way.

Just because a restaurant is plain on the outside, doesn't mean it's plain on the inside. Skip over White Castle and give this place a try next time you're in the area.

Can't Take The Smell. I'm sorry to say that this restaurant smells awful. We thought that we would get used to it the longer we were there, but we didn't. We won't be back.

A Really Bad Experience. My husband and I are here from California visiting friends in Dublin. We hoped to have good Thai food like back home. We didn't!! The Pad Thai was overcooked and the shrimp were so small. Our appetizer was too crispy for me to bite into and the server wouldn't get us something else. It was really unenjoyable to say the least. Our friends were really embarassed.

See for Youself. I'm pretty sure I was sitting in the booth next to josh_sarah and heard the whole situation. The restaurant was full and it looked as though their waiter was fairly new and rather flustered. I don't, however, believe that their complaints were justified. He mentioned that the tod mun (a fried appetizer) was too crispy, but I think that's part of the package when you order fried food. Also, when they left they wanted their food completely free yet I saw that they had eaten almost all of it.

Case in point:

Don't listen to people who just want to play the system; Thai Taste has good service and whenever I go there, the food is always delicious and I highly recommend it.

PLEASE THINK AGAIN. If you're thinking of trying this restaurant for the first time, please think again. I've never written a review before, but felt that I had to this time because our experience was just so terrible.

We waited almost 20 minutes just to give our drink order. Our appetizer was burnt and the entree portions were small and tasteless.

Our waiter didn't really seem to care...and when we finally expressed our displeasure, the owner (and his teenage son!) were defensive and rude...unbelievable.

Our advice...do yourself a favor and try one of the many other Thai restaurants in the area instead.

Stay out!!. I went to this place 2 weeks ago and I feel it is one of the worst restaurant in Columbus. Small portion compared to the dinner price. Worst of all, they charge you for everything, including extra rice. I'm allergic to mushrooms and I asked to replace them with other vegetables and ended up getting charged for that. Is it my fault for being allergic to mushrooms? Restaurants are part of the service industry, I don't see this place as customer oriented at all. I'm sure some of you have experienced that.

Great Thai food. I haven't eaten in the restaurant yet, but have ordered take out several times. I drive a small distance to get it because it's the best Thai I've had in town so far. Great, Fresh Thai food!

If you like Thai Food?. I had just tried Thai taste for the first time. The food was excellent. It had a variety of truly authentic dishes which involved all the flavors. Unfortunately they carry a number of Chinese dishes but the few I have tried makes it hard to frequent any Chinese establishment. You have to try the Pad Thai. It can be ordered with any meat or just vegetables. It is the best Pad Thai in Columbus. Tiger Cry and Yum Nur (steak salad) has a wonderful tropical flavor. For dessert I had the ice-cream kati. It is a homemade coconut ice-cream which is well worth your time. Take time to come to this Thai down home cooking experience.
