Great Authentic Korean Food & Sushi – Great atmosphere, clean, friendly and GREAT food!!!!!! I go here all the time and can't seem to get enough. Definitely the most tastiest and authentic place in town. Also family owned which is a plus. :) I would recommend going and trying a dish or two, decent pricing and great sushi. Oh, and fun late night karaoke is you're into that. Good service!

Great food and good service – I just dined at Silla today with a friend. She is Korean and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. She felt that it was very authentic and we both left happy and satisfied. The sushi was very tasty and our other menu items were just as great.

I'm not sure why people have posted negative reviews as I have dined at Silla on a number of occasions with wonderful service, I am Caucasian, and I don't speak Korean.

Authentic Korean! Friendly Service! – I admit I tend to frequent Min Ga everytime I am in Ohio but decided to try something different this time.

My sister didn't want to go since it is in a nook behind a bar...but ended up caving after some pleading.

We were both pleasantly surprised! Other reviewers said they were treated rudely but we did not experience any of that. I am Korean, and my sister is Caucasian. Another Caucasian family came in right after us and were treated in the same friendly manner that we were greeted. All the ladies were very very nice to us!

We ordered the Bi Bim Bap, Kimbob, Double Crunch Roll, Unago Roll, Bulgogi, and Kalbi. It was a huge meal but well worht its weight in leftovers! I will admit the Kimbob was good but Min Ga's is much better and more authentic. This version had cheese?? in it instead of bulgogi pieces. The Double Crunch Roll and the Unago Roll were awesome as well! Try the Double Crunch was the best sushi I have had in a while.

Then came the bulgogi...oh my gosh it was AMAZING! It tasted just like my Korean friend's Mom used to make. There was quite a bit of bulgogi (MUCH bigger portion than Min Ga's bulgogi AND it was cheaper!). I also liked the fact that it came in a heated dish.

The Kalbi (or Korean BBQ) came next and it was to die for! I ate at a Korean Restaurant in New York City and it DID NOT even compare to this stuff! I have never tasted anything so succulent in my life!

The Bi Bim Bap was good too..try it if you get the chance!

good food, horrible service – My friend took me and my sister to Silla for my birthday. I've never eaten in a Korean restaurant, mostly my friend's Korean Granny's cooking, Bol go gi and Kimchee. My friend arrived before me and the hostess asked her if she was waiting for a man, not so bad but none of her business. And when we were sat they wanted our orders right away, but we politely told them I and my sister had never eaten there and they took our drink order instead. Soon we have decided what we want to eat...and there is no one to take our order. We wait, and about 15 minutes go by when we finally get our drinks and order taken. It takes a while for our food, which I didn't mind. And we get the traditional Korean set up our main dish w/ several little dishes. I personally enjoyed all the food my sister and friend not so much. Everytime we need a refill the waitress just walks by, and we have to flag down someone to get us something to drink.

All the while Korean families are walking in and seem to be getting slightly more attentive service. I don't think the waitresses are doing this intentionally I understand that our waitress in particular didn't seem to speak entirely fluent English, and I myself would probably gravitate to people who I shared a common language with, but I digress when you have been sitting with an empty cup for 10 minutes and you're eating spicy chicken... you tend to become frustrated. It didn't help that we saw a horrible man grab a waitress and wave money in her face demanding his pickup order. Finally we've finished our meal and we sit there plates pushed aside so our waitress knows we're ready for our check, and wait...and wait, while our waitress who is now sitting at the table next to ours and EATING finally sees that we twiddling our thumbs and gives us our check.

So if you aren't in a hurry and don't mind being neglected the food at Silla is pretty good , though their sushi is rather sweet.

A piece Korea in the U.S.A – Where else can you get a raw beef dish? I don?t mean asking for a rare steak from a lazy cook, this dish is uncooked. I won?t try to give the name and embarrass myself because of my poor memory, not that I could tell you if the menu was in front of me. If you are not an adventurous person you may have a limited selection of entrees, but what you get will probably be good. They have sushi, which most people enjoy, even if you don?t like raw fish many types don?t have raw fish, try shrimp or crab which is usually imitation crab and fully cooked. Don?t get the soft shell crab, this is central Ohio the crab is nothing like the coast, ugh. The staff is hit-or-miss, usually pretty good though, remember you are guests in their country while there and English is not their first language, snickering at the menu will not help the service you get. I recommend this piece of Korea for a try, it?s like a Korean diner.

horrible service – I suspect people think it's "one of the best Korean restaurants" in Columbus because it's one of the only Korean restaurants in Columbus. It doesn't speak to the actual quality of the food. The food is below average, but what makes it worse is that the service was terrible. No one came to refill our drinks, even after asking for it and no one came to refill the appetizer dishes, even after we asked for it. They are very discriminatory against people who don't speak Korean (like most Korean places), including getting dishes wrong because they claimed that we "said we wanted that," but we had merely pointed because the whole point was that we didn't know how to pronounce the name of the dish. There are much better places that serve Korean and Japanese food (separately) and with much more respect to the customers.

Why should you eat Korean food in a strip mall? Good question. The answer is even better: Beef. –

The Menu
Restaurant Silla serves authentic Korean food, including hot pepper beef, a steaming, scintillating plate of pan-fried beef in a rich brown sauce. If you smile nicely when ordering, you'll receive all the great side dishes that come with Korean meals, like kim chee, mung sprouts and thinly sliced potatoes.

The Scene
The restaurant, which has an elegant and clean ambiance, is open until 2am. And while the cooks sizzle up something sinful, young people, Korean and otherwise, belt it out on a tiny stage under a disco ball, singing karaoke. With Silla's full bar and fun drinks that come in tiki glasses with umbrellas, the singing can get pretty crazy.

When to Go
Come here late, when the young and Tommy Hilfigered of Columbus have been out drinking all night and need some swivel chairs and soft music so they can relax.

Great Korean Food – I wonder why the description says Japanese and Mexican Restaurant because it offers Korean and Japanese food.
