IRRESPONSIBLE OWNER THAT NEED A NEW LINE OF WORK – My wife and I took some family to Yanni's recently. We usually take a group. It was a cold day and my wife requested of the "Owner of 25 years" a table away from the front door so that her 86 y.o. Mother wouldn't have to sit in the cold. This started a barrage of nasty comments from the "Owner of 25 years" as he titled himself. My wife made no nasty comments to this jerk of an owner, who eventually swore at her
and told her to shut up, This restaurant may have decent food. But if you want to support another immigrant who has no more respect for its
customer's or American's than to get irritated and curse at them, please do so at your own risk. I did give the owner my 2 cents on his business demeanor and left to find a good restaurant. THIS BEHAVIOR IS
IRRESPONSIBLE AND THIS OWNER DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE FOOD IS. My wife is a sweet person and did not deserve this type of ABUSE.
Reason there's a wait for a table! – Best Greek in town! The lemon chicken soup (can't remember the Greek name) is the BEST ever (and I'm on a mission to find the best in town!) and the salads are amazing! My husband loves their gyros (I don't eat them usually - too much for me!) This place is usually standing room only waiting for a table and there's a good reason why....WORTH THE WAIT!
great gyros – Yanni's is my favorite Greek restaurant in Columbus. Their gyro sauce is out of this world. I have heard nothing but good things about other irems on the menu, including the reuben and super sub, but I can never pry myself away from the gyro. When I order, I get the jumbo meal for $7.50, and order an extra pita. They stuff their jumbo with more than enough meat to make two nice sandwiches, plus the drink and frys end up making for a nice meal for two people.
Bad bad food – my gyro was cold nasty so were the fries. not authentic Greek food. I will never eat there again!
A Must if you like Greek Food – The Gyro's and sauce are out of this world. Combine that with huge portions and low prices, and you have a winner!
Great Food – I work next door and this is a must a lunch time great food and prices.
The lunch combo is like 5.50 for a small gyro and a drink and fries and alot of them you cant get a deal like that at mcdonalds!
Excellent food – This restaurant is a staple of mine. Great great food. Crowded, though, because its so small. So, order take out if you must, but get their food! From appetizer to dessert some of my favorite Greek food.
hummusoholics beware – Yanni's, though not spectacular, is always consistenly good. I like hummus and have had it in several restaurants and a number of Mediterranean countries, including Greece. No one comes close to Yanni's hummus. And try the chocolate-covered baklava, if you dare. And, yes, there is a Yanni, and he's been there everytime we've been.
Great Greek! – Yanni's is a small Greek Restaurant in a strip mall off Cleveland Ave. Seating is difficult during peak times but the food more than makes up for the wait. Yanni's has some of the best Gyros you can get in the city! Very tasty whether as a sandwich or a platter. Worth checking out if you are a fan of Greek food.
