Great day spa tucked in a shopping mall off the Sunset Strip. The locker rooms and facilities are plenty big. In particular, the hot tubs are relaxing. Two hours free parking with validation.
Great spa – The staffs are extremely friendly. The services and massages are worth every dollar spent. The only draw back, in the changing rooms, it's too much of a "cruze" zone.
Low-quality massage and facials, but nice spa facility – I admit I am a little bit picky. When I asked my facialist how long she had been a facialist, she told me less than a year. Considering the price-tag, I want someone more experienced. She only did extractions on my nose, and had a way-too light touch.
My massage was a little bit better, but considering I asked for deep-tissue from a man (I am a 120 pound woman), and he could not, (or did not feel comfortable) giving me any real elbow or deep work, I was not too happy.
The facilities are the best in town. Great hair products, full bar of skin care, and wonderful steam room.
If you want a good facial or massage in West Hollywood, go to Euphoria. They may not have a shower, but the facials/massage are way way better.
If you care about quality and want an excellent massage...

(unfortunately for clients BW hires people right out of school 99% of the time, fortunately for them it's a great place to hone skills) fyi
great massage, bad ambiance – i went to burke williams on my birthday for the first time and chose the west hollywood location for it's convenience. i got the shiatzu/sweedish combination massage. it was 80 minutes, which i was nervous about because sometimes too much of a good thing can be too much not to mention hot, etc. but it was really great. the only thing really negative was the atmosphere.
while waiting for my massage i was sitting in their lounge which reminded me more of a lawyer's office than a spa sancutary. not to mention the fact that i was sitting there in just a robe and 2 creepy looking guys who must have been there for some sort of a job interview (they were eventually collected by a manager looking person) were told to wait in this same lounge. definitely NOT appropriate. that being said, i would go back to get that massage.
Reservation not found – Burke Williams has been in the forefront for SoCal day spas for a long time. They appeared to have the expertise to back them up. Boy, was I wrong! I made reservations via their website and received a confirmation number. I was half-an-hour early for my appointment and they couldn't find me on their register and my confirmation number didn't help matters. All they could offer was an appointment an hour later, which was not an option. They claim their website and online reservations weren't reliable. When I asked why they even have this faulty service, they wouldn't provide an honest answer. No other customer service was offered.
Can't go wrong... – all the services are great, nice facilities...perfect place for a gift without gambling on the spa quality. it isn't very original, and it is there's a lot of traffic at the 8000 sunset locale...but i'm always happy when i leave.
Bad experience at Sunset location – It has been a long time since I have been to Burke Williams Spa. I was given a gift certificate for a massage by a dear friend (a devoted BW fan) and finally redeemed it last night at their Sunset location.
What a huge disappointment. The massage itself was actually pretty good, but everything else was a mess. The sauna was broken and the spa seemed run down and outdated (picture black and white photos of Hollywood legends on the wall...as if they would ever go there).
The best part came when I went to pay with my gift certificate...they couldn't find it in the system! I had the actual Burke Williams card, but for some reason there was nothing in their system that showed the certificate in my hand even existed! They checked the purchaser's account, used the serial number on the certificate...nothing.
Even though it was obvious that this was some sort of glitch on their end, they had the nerve to ask me to fork over $150 to cover the cost until they were able to "sort things out." I was promised a call this morning by the spa manager at which point I was told I would be credited the charge, but it's already 1pm and mum's the word.
When all was said and done, I remembered why I always leave there saying, "I'm never going back to Burke Williams again." I just left a message for the manager...stay tuned for the final chapter of "Burke Williams...beyond the nightmare."
you must have a good massage, then you'll know, lol
BW hires people right out of school so sessions are usually worse than average unfortunately for you
for therapists it's a superb training ground. I worked there 10 years ago.....
www.wellnessalchemist dot com a phenomenal massage a humble environment, healing studio in Palms, not a spa but if you want quality..... many of us are not found in spas
Pamper Yourself – Today I had my first visit to Burke Williams for a french manicure and pedicure. I was able to have full use of the spa and it really was as relaxing as I imagined. Steam room, sauna, whirlpool...the Quiet Room with a couple of fresh cucumber slices over my eyes... sigh, really nice. Then there was the mani/pedi - my technician was Marta who was fabulous and gave me some beautifully shaped nails. After, I lounged in the lounge - thinking the pampering was over - when another worker surprised me with a cup of tea and a cool, aromatherapy washcloth she placed on my neck. Ahhh... sitting by the fire, letting the nails dry... there aren't a lot of sincerely Zen-vibes in LA, but the excellent staff provided that to one tired girl today. Thanks BW!

The interior of this West Hollywood link in the local chain is totally serene scene, with subdued lighting, hushed voices and walls painted in warm ochre tones. The clientele consists of Hollywood's hottest, but the vibe remains low-key and friendly. Treatments range from the Pure Relaxation rubdown to the probing deep-tissue massage. Signature offerings include Emilee's Intrigue, a 75-minute experience that combines massage, aromatherapy and a eucalyptus body wrap with a warm-rock rub.
Not so bad – Yes, it was crowded. Yes, my facialist was running 15 minutes late. Aside from that, though, the facilities were well maintained, the facialist did a great job and overall I found the whole experience quite enjoyable. I will probably try to go during the week next time, though, as it was a little hectic on a Saturday afternoon.
uptight relaxation? – If you wat to relax this is NOT the place. There seems to be a feeling that there is always something wrong within the inner walls of this place. The men's facilities are cramped and the locker room has become inconsiderate and unfirendly. This could be that many seem to only speak spanish and are continually running in and out of the steam and sauna. The ability to relax just is not there.
worked there 10 yrs ago, therapists are less than average, right out of school
most quality facilitators of healing do not work in such places, fyi, it's rare but the economy is down so some sacrifice....
