Second to my grandmother's cooking! – On my second visit to Nino's, I asked the waitress to send over the manager. She asked if something was wrong, but I insisted to speak with him. When he came to my table, I asked him where my mother was hiding. He was puzzled. I accused him of making her work in his kitchen to make her spaghetti sauce! We discovered that our families were from the same Abruzzi region in Italy, hence the same delicious sauce! It's made with three meats, beef, chicken, and pork. It is sweeter than most other Italian restaurant sauces that bitter and over spiced.
He later brought me a huge "to go" container of chicken necks in sauce. He said the only way to enjoy them, is to get them all over your face! I highly recommend Nino's! Great price on wine as well!
I stopped in for lunch between appointments. I wanted to try several items, but settled on the Calimari. OUTSTANDING!!! Cooked perfectly. I try it any where I see it, and this was the best so far. Good work.
Ridiculous prices, average food – If it wasn't for the friends and family of the owner writing all of these over-the-top raving reviews, they probably wouldn't have any whatsoever. Most people won't spend a minute of spare time writing a review about such a mediocre strip-mall joint. My last visit there, and I mean LAST, was blessed with the same inept service, horrendously over-priced dishes and dreary atmosphere I'd experienced the previous two times. The owners spent under $40.00 decorating the place resulting in chintzy, shambolic atmosphere, yet they charge the same prices as a quality operation such a Cabin Club, Fahrenheit, or One Walnut. Nothing about this place makes any sense, so don't waste any cents trying to figure it out.
great food – Its a very nice atmosephere. Small but comfortable. Very good portions. Everythings made when you order it. They actually do take credit cards now, unlike the other reviews. A little pricey
Great West Side Italian – As an Italian I am very picky about my Italian food, and for a long time I would refuse to eat Italian food on the West Side (like Bovalinos (sp?) in Westlake, some of the nastiest food ever. Okay, back to Ninos. Ninos rivals some East Side Italian joints. Though the place is small it makes up for it with great food and good portions. The service isn't bad, but we all know what to expect from older Italian women (joke for those who know Italian restaurants). The prices aren't too bad, I would say a little over priced on some items but I guess it's well worth it. The take out is another plus. Many places take out isn't as good as eating in but that is not the case here.
taxman25 – If there's a better small Italian restaurant I want to go there, but I doubt that one exists. This place is THE best. Everything is made when ordered - not sitting in pots all day like some mass production restaurantsd do. Best food around - try the "Fantasea" if you like seafood...WOW!! HUGE portions, reasonable prices, very friendly staff - what more could you ask for? This is a "cash only, no reservations taken" restaurant, but if you have to wait for a table, do so at all cost!
Great food! – If you're looking for good home cooked Italian Food. Nino's is the place. Everything is fresh. It is guarenteed to NEVER go home hungry. It may be a little on the pricey side, but it's worth it. I don't go to any other Italian Resteraunt.
Eat out! – Great selection. Very nice staff. My wife and I love this place.
excellent – Great food and atmosphere. Only one draw back is they don't accept credit cards.
Best Italian this side of Italy – The restaurant isn't very big, and the ambiance is
not a romantic dream. But the food is terrific. My wife thinks the Mushroom Lovers Special with Veal and Alio Sauce is the best tasting meal she's ever eaten no matter where we've been. You won't be sorry.
