you get what you pay for – the prices are low and the food is filling, but the ribs are tough and not well marinated or smoked ... chicken is a little better
Best BBQ For Your Buck – Great BBQ sauce, prompt service, and a larger variety than any other BBQ place in the area.
hot sauce williams – i enjoy the chicken just as well as the bbq.the sauce is not that great.
Napkins optional; licking fingers, mandatory. – The Scene
For 35 years Hot Sauce Williams has beckoned Clevelanders to Carnegie Avenue by sending plumes of sweet smelling smoke into the ever changing skyline. An oversized barbeque outback provides the smoke signals that reach your nose long before this pink and blue building comes into view. This art-deco restaurant is a favorite of locals, construction workers, and clinic employees alike. Don't fret, you can also enjoy the fun-loving picnic atmosphere filled with smiling faces, and eat your Styrofoam wrapped delights on the same flowered tablecloths.
Two rules: Everything comes with sauce (except the coleslaw, which needs none); everything is packed for takeout. So don't look like a fool and ask for your fried okra to go. If that Polish Boy or Shoulder sandwich did not quite satisfy your BBQ needs, finish up with some sweet potato pie or banana pudding.
Damn Good SOUL Food Joint – Let me keep this short, HOT SAUCE WILLIAMS has good food. The chicken wings themselves with that excellent sauce will have you going to the hospital because you tried to over do it. Basically it is a place in which you go there if you are hungry, not to propose to your loved one. It is where you go to get down.
Not the real thing! – I will short and to the point. In my opinion, this is not real BBQ. The ribs I had were very tough but meaty which made it all the more frustrating. The sauce is different but good. I think they use it to cover up the "baked" taste of the ribs. They did have a smoker in the back, but apparently they didn't use it on the ribs that I had. Summary: I wouldn't go back, I was very dis-appointed.
