From futuristic to prehistoric, kids can check out hands-on exhibits that educate and entertain. – The Scene
Visitors to the museum's multi-sensory, 8,700-square-foot exhibit hall ride over planets in the solar system, feel the rumbling of an earthquake, walk through a simulated underground cave, touch samples of volcanic rock and experience how glaciers sculpted the Ohio landscape and formed the Great Lakes. Kids can also learn how to "cook" rocks on a computer recipe screen by choosing the correct ingredients, time, temperature and pressure.
The Reinberger Hall of Earth and Planetary Exploration--Planet-e--integrates the sciences of astronomy and geology. Its hands-on interactive sections feature sweeping murals showing the formation of the universe, the birth and extinction of various animals, and the Milky Way. Kids can travel through space via interactive video stations featuring actual footage from NASA space missions and see a moon rock from the Apollo 12 space mission.
