Tips for Grand Poo-Bas Record Shoppe

Poo-Bas Not Only Sells Great Vinyl, But Keeps The Trance Community Alive In Cleveland. I started spinning about 3 years ago and since then, I have always picked up my vinyl from Poo-Bas. It's small, but there is a TON to sift through, and Doug (the owner) is always keeping the latest out on the walls for your to listen to before you buy.

For the CD freaks, he has some CD's.

Not only that, but Poo-Bas keeps you up to date with the local Trance/House scene in Cleveland and occasionally will sell event tickets at a discount price from the shop.

Great place!

The city's source for DJ and club vinyl, even without the secret handshake.. The Scene
If you heard it at the club, you can buy it here. Grand Poo-Bas knows what it has, but knows it humbly: the city's best selection of 12" vinyl, sold by the most knowledgeable staff in the local industry. Shop owner Doug Burkhart has held reign for three years, but made a good name for himself spinning on the Cleveland scene for the past eight years; his employees have equally impressive reputations.

The Skinny
Grand Poo-Bas doesn't fool around when it comes to customer service and club knowledge. Not only will you discover a series of techno, trance, house, jungle, high-energy, underground and commercial dance sounds you may not have known existed, you'll gain a real appreciation for the DJ profession. The store is strewn with fliers detailing the best DJ events in town, and can truly be considered the bloodline to the Cleveland club scene.

Last Night a DJ Saved My Life
All employees are current with their music knowledge because they hold down residencies at the more popular local clubs. Owner Doug Burkhart spins Fridays at That Groovee Little Nightclub and Saturdays at Spy; Mike Filly is at Touch on Fridays, and Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at the Mercury Lounge; Rob Black is at Wish on Fridays, at Metropolis on Saturdays.
