What a Shame – We have been happy patrons of Don's Pomeroy House for 20yrs, have gotten to know everyone, and have enjoyed the special service and familiarity that comes with that. We have enjoyed the food, wines, camaraderie with staff, and ambiance of the historic house.

Until now. After a fine happy uneventful dinner evening, for reasons unknown an asst. mgr. chose to accuse us of causing an incident which NEVER OCCURRED.

My wife & I were astounded, and informed him nothing occurred. HE INSISTED. We left the restaurant distressed and confused. During the drive home I called to attempt to get an explanation. Instead of resolving the matter, HE PERSISTED in his false accusation and threatened that I should not speak to the manager, quote "you won't like it".

The following week I spoke to the manager, who apologized for whatever occurred. We returned with expectation of an apology from the asst.mgr. and thought the issue was resolved.

However, as of today the false accusation has been resurrected by the manager to whom I spoke.

We have spent every Friday evening for the last many years at Don's. Monthly we have spent thousands, and have been to our knowledge Don's best individual regular customer.

Due to this entirely UNPROFESSIONAL and IMMATURE behavior by the senior management of the restaurant, WE SHALL NO LONGER PATRONIZE Don's Pomeroy House.

Peter Strang of the STRANG CORPORATION, owner of Don's Pomeroy House, has been informed of this matter, and has failed to respond.

It is with sincere regret we find we must inform others of this matter, and strongly suggest Don's Pomeroy House be avoided by all.

Major Dissapointment – I ordered the New York Strip. The only thing that was worth eating were the green beans. The mashed potatoes were very stiff with little flavor. The steak was the worst cut of meat I?ve EVER had. It was very fatty and full of gristle. It tasted like they threw salt and pepper on it and tossed it in a frying pan. I got a side order of shitake mushrooms. They were fried in butter with nothing to season. The food was very unimaginative with mediocre presentation. The service was , however, very good. Overall, save you money and go to Outback or something.

Best restaurant in the Cleveland area – It's a seafood place but if you like steaks try the strip steak. The Sea Bass is real good too. It has a cherry port sauce that is unbelievable.

Fireside fine dining in an 1847 tavern. – The Scene
Wrapped in raw brick and a romantic glow, this restored 19th-century stagecoach stop draws sophisticated foodies and flirting couples. Ebenezer Pomeroy's homestead shuns "ye olde alehouse" clichés in favor of comfy, book-lined booths and a cozy fireplace. Down a winding oak staircase, though, the Pub hums like the Dickens.

The Food
The kitchen dips into the American comfort-food canon for revved-up versions of beef, chop and seafood classics. "Voodoo" shrimp comes bacon-wrapped, curry-laced and nestled on corn and lobster cakes; the platter-lapping duck breast is cider-glazed and sided by a sumptuous vegetable napoleon; and the slow-roasted rack of pork boasts cherry-apple chutney. A comprehensive wine list offers affordable domestic and imported standards by the glass or the bottle. Finish with a wedge of fresh strawberry cheesecake. After enjoying the best land and sea can offer, a sip of small-batch bourbon is heaven.

Fine cuisine – Best food & service I've ever had. Everything works well in this place. Parking is easy too.

great ambience – Beautiful decore. Two dining areas. Main area is formal. The pub is very quaint. The main dining area is a bit loud and more expensive than the pub. The pub is more enjoyable and is larger than most main dining areas. The food is a bit pricey but is generally worth it. Not an everyday place to go, but has the whole package for a special night out. Try the swordfish or sea bass
