Over-rated, Over-priced. – My friend and I came from out of town so we looked on CitySearch for a place to eat for dinner. After reading the many positive reviews, we thought that we found a great place to eat. We were wrong.

The place is nicely decorated, but quite crowded and loud. In my opinion, our waiter was not really attentive; he seemed quite dis-interested in serving us.

We ordered the crab and artichoke dip. Pretty good.

My friend ordered the Kobe Beef Ravioli. It was cold. The meat seemed like it had fillers in it. The cream sauce was very watery. Even Olive Garden's is much better.

I ordered the Paella. It was bland, with no flavor. I had to add a lot of salt, then some more pepper before I could eat it. Then I added Tobasco to mask the blandness.

We were still hungry, so we ordered the Chocolate Torte. Not bad.

Overall, I think this place is way over-priced, for below average food and service. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Over Priced and Over Hyped! – Save your money and go elsewhere. I've been there 3 times. Each time, they are training new servers, and they always make me feel uncomfortable when I don't order a bottle of wine. The first time I ordered a stuffed chicken dish, and it was extremely dry. Another time I ordered a scallop dish which was also quite lackluster! I had heard that the mushroom soup was to die for, but it definitely tasted like it came out of can. Not worth $4. Eating at Palominos is similar to dining at a mediocre hotel restaurant. Oh yeah, the view isn't that great either!

Palomino is an ideal restaurant. One of Cincinnati's very best. – When opening a business they always say that there are three things you need to keep in mind: "Location! Location! Location!". Palomino is located in the heart of Cincinnati, one of the most under-rated cities in the northeast, above Tiffany's Jewelers and overlooking the famed Fountain Square. My girlfriend and I were sat at a table next to the window and enjoyed our night watching the fountain water works and the lively downtown nightlife. The location is also just a couple of blocks walking distance from the majority of the city's hotels (which are cheap when purchased through last minute travel websites; all the more reason to visit Cincinnati). The ambiance at Palomino is rich with reds, dark mahogany woods, marble and choice lighting. The artwork, decor and spunky flare compliment the creativity of the kitchen. I was lucky to dine at Palomino during the Copper River Salmon run. The special of the night was, in fact, a wood-stoked fire baked cedar plank salmon filet that arrived at my table on a toasted wooden board, the aromas of which were rousing and sensational. The filet was a large portion and it was the most favorable salmon dish I have ever eaten. My girlfriend ordered the prime rib, which was perfect in size and cooked to her request. It was tender, juicy, and had a clean presentation on the plate. The restaurant was a bit louder than other comparable restaurants, much of the sounds coming from the kitchen and bar area, but it did not seem to bother us very much and, in fact, was almost at the level we would want considering the atmosphere. The staff was young but knowledgeable, and the manager even stopped by to ask us if we were enjoying our dinner and talked to us for a couple of minutes more because we told him we were from Canada. I highly recommend Palomino in Cincinnati especially during the Copper River Salmon run. Call to reserve, and really take in the experience as a whole because such an overall dining experience is rare.

Didn't feel to welcome – A friend and I were shopping and decided to have lunch there. The Host staff made us feel unwelcome since we didn't have reservations. The restaurant had just opened for the day and wasn't busy yet. The food was very good and the service was average. The staff just made us feel sorta out of place and were a bit stuffy.

Great food and drinks, an upscale bistro atmosphere and a prime location are the secrets to this restaurant's success. – The Scene
Hopping every night, Palomino's large bar is a popular happy-hour spot for downtown workers. Flashy without being over the top, the multi-tiered dining room's floor-to-ceiling windows overlook Fountain Square. It can be loud, but good dinner conversation is never precluded.

The Food
Palomino's menu draws inspiration from the Mediterranean, but the wood-fired ovens and spit roasters bring the great flavors to life. Wood-grilled pizza appetizers are crackly, thin and flavorful, with toppings like spit-roasted chicken with roasted peppers and sweet onions, or Italian sausage, wild mushrooms and mozzarella. Waffle-sliced potatoes topped with gorgonzola can easily satisfy four diners. For the main course, Palomino's features fresh seafood, meats seared in the hearth oven and delicious smoked rotisserie chicken seasoned with pancetta, olive oil, garlic, rosemary and lemon. Finish your meal with the rich, heavily-spiked tiramisu.

Best Wood Fire Pizza, ignore desserts – Best Wood fired Pizza in Town.

Avoid going during rush hour, or your meal could remain under the heat lamps for +30min

My table was in view of the kitchen, and saw all the activity and commotion. My pizza took 40min - 35 for the kitchen to get the order, 5 for cooking. Also watch a pizza left under the lights for 37min after mine was done (I timed it).

Have tried 2 deserts and none are to be repeated.

Famous Tiramisu (is famously NOT a Tiramisu) and the Servati chocolate cake was gummy and flavorless

Consistent – It has a definite franchise feel that may not appeal to some, however with that is consistency. You can always be fairly sure of getting a decent meal.

My only complaint might be that it doesn't seem to offer the same value as it did when it first opened. The entree prices seemed to have increased, but maybe it is only my perception.

Fazolli's is just as good. – I was stunned on my first time visiting by the restraunt's Disney-like vibe. Cocktails here are excellent and food is above average. But if you a person, hopefully everyone, who likes to be treated with decency then don't both with this place. I encountered extremely rude facilitations after an item of value disapearred off my table. So if one is really hungry and doesn't mind over priced yuppie-want-to-be restraunts, choose this place. But save yourself the trouble and dine in at the closest fast food joint.
