A hot spot for Cincinnati's gay community, though all are welcome.. The Scene
A division between the long bar area and the brick-walled dining room creates separate environments for drinking and eating. Get a window seat to watch the passersby on Main Street during lunch hour evenings and groove to one of the best jukeboxes in town. Open for lunch and dinner, Carol's is a favorite with late-night diners who pack the place from 11pm to 1am Wednesday through Saturday.

The Menu

Favorites on the American Bistro menu, which changes seasonally, include a chicken Thai sandwich with grilled pineapple, spicy peanut sauce and bean sprouts, and Cock a Noodle Do, a mixed green salad with Asian noodles, veggies, grilled chicken and a sesame-hoisin dressing. You'll also find a variety of Southwestern-influenced items such as lime tortilla chicken soup and Santa Fe pasta--fettucine in chipotle cream sauce with black beans, peppers, onions and Anaheim chiles topped with cheese, tortilla chips and lime sour cream.

Eclectic, Stimulating ambiance. Ever-varied menu, ecclectic, Great varied crowd, awesome jukebox, awesome cocktails, lots of aesthetics from varied artists' paintings, to the lighting to the crowds. Great place to go with groups and for appetizers and cocktails. The quesadillas are amazing!

Good first visit. I enjoyed my first visit to Carol's, and was blown away by the quality of the Black Jack veggie burger. One of the best burgers I've ever had, with or without meat!

I like to sit in a corner and read a book while I eat, so the dark atmosphere and somewhat loud music/conversation noise levels were a bit distracting. I should probably have requested an isolated table, since I was seated between two other close-by tables. On the other hand, it's nice to see a place which actively encourages "sociability" and which has a very friendly feel. I'll be back.
