Local students and die-hard sports buffs share the pinball machines, cocktails and satellite dish at this downtown lounge..
The Scene
The opening of Dayton's new Fifth Third Field has caused a resurgence of interest in hometown baseball, and Sloopy's reflects this enthusiasm. It's a rowdy, boisterous bar, and game days attract a broad range of sports fans, with a spacious interior that accommodates parties of all sizes. There are plenty of interesting corners and booths, and the lighting is comfortably dim.
The Booze
The bar boasts yards of imported and domestic beer taps, and well drinks quench the thirsts of rowdy spectators and regular patrons alike. Long Island iced teas are reasonably priced.
While You're There
Pinball machines, trivia games, a modest dance floor and a DJ spinning Top 40 music add to the fun. In the tradition of sports bars everywhere, Sloopy's is covered with wide-screen TV monitors, making it the perfect spot to kick back and watch the Knicks game after work.
