Nice people and great prices! – I personally like David's Bridal. I found the dress of my dreams at a David's Bridal in Kentucky but then moved to Oklahoma with my fiance. I went to the David's Bridal in OKC knowing what dress I wanted but wanting to still try on different things. It was a weekend and busy (which of course it would be) So I looked around and found MY DRESS and a few others that I liked.... if you want to get exactly what you want, why don't you look a little yourself. I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth and am not afraid to do things myself. Once we were assigned a consultant she was awesome, she went and got the dresses I had picked out, I tried them on.. still liking the original one that I had picked out. She helped me see which would be better: WITH a slip or without a slip. When I mentioned I was going to be wearing a tiara she brought me several tiaras, ranging in price which I liked because it told me she wasn't just trying to get me to spend a million dollars. Oh and also my dress was in the $99 sale as well.. a few that I had picked out weren't on sale but the consultant was completely honest and agreed that the $99 dress was the ONE. Oh another thing I liked was that they let me bring in my veil (which I had bought elsewhere) to match with my dress. Ok so wonderful experience for my own wedding.. now almost 3 years later and I went back for my bridesmaid's dress to my cousin's wedding. I walk in, without an appt, and immediately a woman comes to help me. I tell her what I'm there for and she picks out the dress and 2 sizes. She also went to the trouble to show me the different colors that the other bridesmaids will be wearing. She was very attentitive and helpful. I was able to get what I needed and be out quickly.. which is important when you have a 13 month old along with you. So as for all these bad reviews, apparently they are looking for a very expensive, personal experience with Vera Wang... I love David's Bridal and will refer it and use it again and again.

Inconsiderate consultants, limited budget-friendly dresses – My mother has been married for 25 years, but never got to have a real wedding ceremony. For their anniversary, we are throwing them a vow renewal, and she will finally get to wear a pretty white dress and feel like a princess.... no thanks to David's Bridal.

Althought the person we made the appointment with was friendly and quite considerate, the consultant we were assigned when we actually got there seemed to think we were a waste of her time. Once we told her we were there for the $99 gown sale, she seemed to lose interest. She gave us very few dresses to try on, was inconsiderate of my mother (who was nervous about undressing in front of a total stranger--our consultant didn't even give us the option to let me help her dress instead), and generally made us feel as if we were cheap and wasting her time. She left us alone for long periods of time with nothing to do, and only brought us four dresses to try on, although she could have gone up a few sizes and pinned them to show my mother more styles that were on sale. Needless to say, we were very disappointed, and I was very displeased that she would make my mother feel anything but beautiful and catered to for her long-belated wedding.

Thrifty Bridal? – Having been in the bridal industry for 8yrs, I like going into other bridal shops to see how things work for them. This is a good way of possibly making positive changes within your business. I was only a sales manager at a bridal shop but I was curious to know how other shops did business. First, David's has great prices on most of their stuff; however, of late, their stuff has been getting more expensive. The quality of their dresses are only of less than average quality. You get what you pay for.. Some people may think, Im only going to wear it once, so who cares? While others are on a tight budget and have no choice but to shop at david's because their prices are good. Im not saying David's has ugly dresses because they DO have some very nice dresses but they are few and far between. Maybe because I have seen better quality is why I am saying this. I, for one, would never shop at David's. First, you are buying a dress that is accessible to thousands of other women. That takes away the intimacy of the dress when you open up the newspaper and see five girls wearing your dress. Second, you will rarely get ono-on-one attention in such a large bridal chain. Third, the overturn on staff is amazing so you have newbies giving you advice on dresses they dont know firsthand about. Fourth, the company has so many orders that your is bound to be lost amongst the abyss of orders. I have heard from many customers, running into my store last minute looking for a replacement dress or other, that David's called them up months after their order to say, SORRY CANT GET YOUR DRESSES SO WE'LL GIVE YOU A REFUND. That's nice of you and all to give me my money back but I really needed to dresses more! It happens-frequently-but it happens everywhere at all shops. Just more at the larger chains.

Wedding dress hunting ground for real-world brides on a budget. Princesses need not apply. – In Short
A chic, sleek boutique, it's not. But those willing to look carefully will likely find a big-time bargain. The staff is helpful and knows the merchandise but doesn't provide extensive one-on-one attention or advice. Stores (particularly on weekends) can be swamped with brides-to-be. David's specializes in beaded satin A-lines and simple lace sheaths that just hit the $500 mark. Most labels are tasteful but of medium-quality: Gloria Vanderbilt, Lady Eleanor, Oleg Cassini and the likes.
