favorite chinese – Whenever I eat out for Chinese I insist on eating at Koi Palace (despite the wait...and I am inpatient) because of the quality of food and the service. Granted, the service is not comparable to that of a 5-star American restaurant, however, I found the servers to be accomadating and friendly. I grew up eating Chinese food and I feel its a good value for the food, considering the quality.
Extremely Bad Service – This is a nice looking restaurant, but poor service. Food price is extremely high & portion is small.
Excellent Quality – Quality and variety was excellent. Fresh seafood every day. Wait is a bit long, but it's worth it.
Best Dim Sum in S.F area – There's a massive variety of dim sum. The prices are a big high, but it's affordable! Great quality seafood! The wait is over 1 hour on the weekends though.
Okay Dim Sum – I went there for dim sum a few times and wasn't very impressed. The wait was long, the service was ok (slow if you have small parties). The food was better than average.
The best dim sum in bay area – What can I say? this place is packed with dim sum lovers every day and you usually need to wait for a good hour to seat on the table. Food is superb. As usual, the service is not very impressive as the place is always crowded. Seafood selection is a great plus and one can see the prove when you first walk in to the restuarant.
Seafood mania – Fresh seafood, geat preparation; that's all you need from a top-notch restaurant.
Best dim sum, but longest wait – I've eaten at Koi Palace several times, mostly for dim sum and once for dinner. I've tried all the big dim sum places in the Bay Area but Koi Palace is the best, with the largest variety of authentic, delicious dim sum and a strong tea selection. The Shanghai dumplings are especially outstanding. Dinner is more of a mixed bag, but you'll find dishes that no other Chinese restaurant around here serves, and the quality is pretty decent.
That said, the service is quite poor, and the wait for dim sum is terrible! Go at off hours; otherwise be prepared for a wait of 45 mins up to 2 hours! But it's worth it, otherwise I wouldn't keep going back :)
