Mexican Food. I love love love this place!! It's a fun place to hang out and the food is great! Also, they have awesome happy hour specials.
mucho fantastic. Since moving here to Tulsa i hadnt found a restaurant that made me want to come back...but i finally found Chimis! I couldnt believe how good the queso was. Plus I finally found a place with GREAT fish tacos, which i got with soft corn tortillas. There is a secret sauce on the side that just makes them perfect. And the enchiladas are for sure, the BEST in town. The enchilada sauce is really mild and reminds me of my favorite mexican place in San Francisco. Another thing i love is that I usually come alone but the waitstaff always remembers me, so I never feel lonely.
human hair found in food.
i found hair in the food that was served at this location last night, they did nothing.
I showed the waitress , the manager came out to my table and said that "they wear hair nets in the kitchen"
maybe the hair was not human ! i am very sick today , i was feeling fine when we went in there last night.
I called today and asked for a refund of the moneys i spent to be made sick , and I was told i must prove that their food made me sick ! I used a credit card and stoped the payment.

very poor customer service. Had not been to Chimi's in quite some time and now I know why. We visited on a Saturday evening about 7:30, they were not very busy. We asked to be seated on the balcony, great view on a pleasant evening. We sat there about 15 minute and received no service. My husband went in to alert someone and were told the waiters we awfully busy. He said " I guess that means we will have to wait quite awhile?" reply was "yes". We left. The manger stopped us and said he was sorry the girl was new and didn't understand what we were asking. He did not ask us to to be reseated, NOTHING! I see no reason to return or suggest anyone else go there.
I've had better.
A previous reviewer summed it up pretty well.
Years ago, Chimi's was located down the street where Kilkenny's Irish Pub (1413 E. 15th) is.
Those were the golden years of Chimi's - damn good salsa, chips, excellent beer, margarita's and food.
Now, it has grown into several additional locations and the quality has decreased, the service is so-so.
Some of my friends still like to go here, but having tasted a lot of Mexican food from California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, this ain;t what I'd call good Mexi-food.
Service can be PAINFULLY slow.
One plus: the view from the outside balcony.
Good Restaurant Gone Bad. We remember when Chimi's was only one restaurant on Cherry Street. They've grown too far and fast and the food has not kept pace. Very disappointing. Oh, the last time we ate there, the salsa was um, less than fresh (actually my choice of words was edited out), and the manager was not even apologetic. Taco Bueno or Qdoba are better.
