See Silicon Valley in its natural state. One catch, though: You must live in Palo Alto.
– In Short
Palo Alto acquired the land--almost 1,400 acres--in 1958 on the condition that it be preserved as close to its natural state as possible. The only man-made additions are the Interpretive Center, the Boronda Lake, and 15 miles of roads and hiking trails. The park's main feature is Las Trampas Valley, a large meadow between two wooded ridges. The 12-acre Boronda Lake offers fishing but not swimming. There are lots of wildflowers and an overnight campsite (available by reservation only).
