How flat do you like your beer? – This place has warm flat beer and food that is marginal at best. I don't know why I've been here more than once, but I have and the results have been the same each time.

Perfect if you are in the right mood – The food ain't great, the attitude is all there, but it is amazing that in high tech Stanford, you can still find a place that hasn't changed in literally 20 years. The burgers are greasy, but the beers is good. The main thing to do for…

If offbeat is what you're looking for... – ...Alpine Inn is worth a visit. This is NOT fine dining by any stretch, but it is a fun, informal place for a crowd to get together to eat, drink & make merry. As previous reviews have noted, this is an historic (1850s) roadhouse that serves…

the great outdoors. If you live in the area, you can just bike there.

Zott's is a great place for a beer and some sun – A classic beer garden - looks the same as it did 40 years ago. Same picnic tables inside and out back where you can sit out and enjoy the day. Burgers and grilled stuff is good. No need to worry about dress.

Come as you are at Zott's – Man, if there were an award for Most Casual in the Bay Area, Zott's would win it. It's where the students, the super-rich, and the misplaced come to drink beer and eat peanuts in dress-down, bicycle shorts, or *gasp* even jeans!

Alpine Inn -- aka Zott's -- is the best of its kind – Alpine Inn, better known to old-timers as Zott's, is great as a beer garden, especially on sunny days, or as an indoor watering hole any day. The food from the grill isn't special, but it's classic. Beer is reasonably priced, and there's…
