Met my expectations – Me and my guests really enjoyed the cake I got for a birthday party. Ordering was easy and the person I dealt with was quite helpful in helping me choose. I'm no good at determining what ingredients or flavors I am tasting, I just know when the end product is delicious and memorable. Only thing keeping me from 5 stars was the price, but it was still reasonable for such a quality cake. I will order again - actually, I can't wait to.

AMAZING!!!!! – I ordered a few dozen cupcakes for an event I had. I had 4 different flavors and each of them was absolutely amazing! I had everyone at the party asking me where I got the cupcakes from. I had a couple left over cupcakes and I ate them about 5 days after they were made and they tasted just as fresh as they day I bought them! Also while I was picking up my cupcakes I purchased a couple cookies. Hands down the best cookies I have ever had in my life!!! They were huge and so moist! I definitely recommend going there!

STALE STALE STALE – i have been buying their black and white individual box cake for years, hoping to finally get one that is as delicious as my first experience. either i have had a string of unfortunate luck with their cakes, or the one good cake i did have was an exception and not the rule.

i have bought the same cake at Zupans, New Seasons and Wild Oats. all of which have been hard, dry and stale, with the frosting very hard and stiff. thankfully, the above mentioned retailers have been kind enough to offer me a credit for my purchase, but it would behoove customers to know not to purchase Dessert Tray's "retailed" products. Maybe it is just the specific cake box cake I buy, for it is cut and exposed on all four sides, making it vulnerable to dryness.

In any case, a huge disappointment. Yuck, yuck, yuck.

I am sorry that you had an unfortunate experience with our desserts, it would have been appreciated if you had chosen to contact us first so that we might have had a chance to fix the situation rather than find out through a third party. We talk to our wholesale customers on how to correct these situations so they won't happen however; we have no control over how they handle our desserts. Our cakes are best served at room temp and our frosting, when it's cold will be stiffer because of the butter. We place expiration dates on the boxes and tell our wholesale clients the best storage method for them. As our cakes and frosting are made from scratch, it won't be the same cake that you get in a standard grocery store chain; those chains often use pre-made mixes that have many extra ingredients meant to stabilize the cakes for long term storage and the same goes for most of the frosting that is used on those cakes, there is a reason that those frostings stay so soft when they are cold.

Worst cake in Town – For my friend's birthday, I decided to use this bakery because all reviews sound so positive. I ordered a birthday cake for my friend on August 26, 2007. Maybe it is a small cake, the person on the counter was not very helpful and did not explain much about the choices to me. Two days before picking up the cake, I phoned in to change to bigger cake and they refused because they already made the batter (already??). I guess it turned out to be a good thing that they wouldn't let me change to bigger cake because the cake tastes horrible. The cake was dry with heavy sweet cream and the black decorative cream stains tongue and plate. It was quiet disgusting. Most of guests did not finish cake and I ended up threw away half of the cake. Any toher bakery can do much better job than this bakery.

It's a shame that you had an unhappy experience with our bakery, it would have been appreciated if you had contacted us about your issues. Our batters are made from scratch every day, just before baking; one simply cannot make cake batter days ahead before baking it. Sadly, most people do not realize that it takes more than five min. to make and decorate a cake. We tell our clients to let the cakes warm up to room temp before serving as the buttercream frosting is stiff when it's cold. Also, whenever a client orders black frosting, not chocolate but Black,we always make certain to let the customer know that the amount of food coloring required for black will give the frosting an off flavor and that it stain peoples' mouths for at least a few days and to be sure to warn their guests. The client makes the decisions on the cake flavor, filling, frosting, and decoration they want, we offer suggestions based on experience but it is ultimately their decision.

BEST CAKE PLACE!! – I was looking for a place to have someone make a wine botle shaped cake for my husband's birthday because he's a big wine drinker/collector. After seeing the amazing cake pictures on Dessert Tray's website, I thought I'd try it. When I met with the pastry chef, she said she hadn't done too many wine cakes but felt very confident she could give me what I was looking for. I had brought in photos of one of his favorite wine bottles with me so that she could match it up as close as possible. When I picked it up, I was so impressed and happy that I didn't know how to say thank you enough. It was the most incredible and realistic looking wine bottle I've ever seen. And it was a pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting. There was no cake left, it was soooo good! I would go back there in a heart beat!! They were very friendly, very professional, very affordable, and very talented. Thanks again Dessert Tray!!

Best Cake - BAR NONE! – I was in a quandry for a cake. Which to choose? I checked out a bunch of local bakeries and settled on The Dessert Tray based off of their reviews and website. I was in charge of a baby shower (twins!!) and kind of waited to the last minute to order a cake. I called The Dessert Tray (on a Thursday) and explained what I was interested in for the shower on Sunday! They made the most beautiful cake. It was just as I requested and it was so scrumptuous! I would definately use them again. Actually, I will for May, it's my daughters 12th b.day.

These guys know their stuff, are extremely accomodating, very adequately priced and highly recommended! If you need a cake.....The Dessert Tray is the place to call...BAR NONE!

Best bakery in town – My husband and I tried most of the well known bakeries in town for our wedding when we stubbled upon the desert tray. The cakes are amazing and fresh. The cake designer is very creative and fun to work with. The cake was right on time and survived a trip to the beach. Months later, the guests still talk about the cake. I can't wait to come back for our first anniversary.

Wonderful desserts and service – Ordered the small dessert tray for a bridal shower we had last Saturday.....every item was beyond delicious!! In fact I'm still getting great comments, and being asked where we got the goodies for the shower. I also purchased some day old cookies for home, and they tasted as fresh as first baked. High recommend if you're not watching your waist.

This Beaverton scratch bakery creates an abundance of treats, luring sweet tooths from near and far. – In Short
This small outpost in the suburbs specializes in inventive wedding cakes, but does a brisk takeout business as well. A few seats up front cater to the instant-gratification type. Luxuries like the orange-curd Creamsicle cake, raspberry-chocolate ganache cake, marionberry pie with rosewater, six different flavors of brownies, raspberry-cheesecake bars and lemon-coconut shortbread are favorites.

Wonderful cakes! – My husband and I really appreciated all the help the we received from one of the employees. She was extremely helpful, polite, and patient when it came to deciding what cakes we would use for our wedding. We're looking forward to having them make our 1st year wedding cake!
