About 12 years ago, I thought that my computer needed replacing. Three computer businesses looked at it, all trying to sell me an expensive replacement. With that in mind I took it to Budget, looking for a good deal to get a new computer. After a few minutes the tech explained that I had a virus and didn't need a new computer, and for a much less price than I was expecting, he repaired my computer. Since then they are the go to place for my business. I own a video production company that requires several computers with lots of hard drives, and specialized computer parts. These guys are just wonderful. They are exceptionally thorough at fixing my computer problems and keeping them running smoothly. They very fair on what they charge, and I'm very glad about the constantly good work that they've done for me over the years. I can not recommend them more highly.
Worst place I have ever had experience with. First took my lap top in because I was having problems with it. They said it needed a new hard drive so I had them upgrade it and install windows 7. I took it on a trip when I got it back and kept getting a error message saying Windows was not valid. I took it back in and they tried to say that they did not put Widows 7 on it even though it said so on the receipt. Finally they agreed to fix it. It took 5 days to get it back. When I finally got it back they forget to give me the charger. I also noticed that they selected one the pictures from my computer as the picture of my user account. When I went into to get my charger I told the technition that searching through files on my computer was inappropiate he did not seam to be to concerned. When I asked to speak with the owner all he could say is I apologize but would not agree that his technition had done anything wrong. If you want your computer fixed right and have the files on your computer be confidential and not searched through by the tecniton I would suggest you go someplace else. Apparently they have nothing better to do than search through the personal information on your computer when you take it in.
Best Computer store EVER – these people have sold me every computer they are knowledgeable and the deals are great. I refer them to all my friends if you want a reliable and inexpensive computer go to them! they also have great deals on televisions as well. Ask for Brian or Tim.
Great service & a great deal – I went to Budget with a "computer emergency" and they fixed me up with a fantastic deal on a new laptop. They were friendly, helpful, and got me up and running again ASAP -- which is crucial because I run my own business and my laptop is essential. They went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed -- at a great price! Go there!
Oasis of great & effective knowledgable service – I have been shopping at Budget for all my computers almost since the days of my IBM PC Junior (guess that dates me) and continue to always go there since I usually buy used equipment and need to rely on the knowledge, experience and help of the staff. Despite the length of time that I have been using everything under the sun since DOS 3.1 I still "don't know nuttin'" about computers except that I rely on them completely for the multitude of tasks in my professional career -- hence I cabn always count on Budget to inform, help, fix, explain, and in general (going back to my Boy Scout days) to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent... (There's a couple in there I can't vouch for personally, but for the Big Stuff I wouldn't go anywhere else, and never need to). Very high recommendations. For us senior professionals there is a Vast Desert Of Ineptitude out there in computerland, but there is a restful Oasis in Beaverton, and I for one am very grateful for it.
Rosnan – They are rip offs and sell junk from B stock that they buy as either lease returns or rejects.
I am very amazed they are staying in business. They thrive mainly on unknowlegable customers that need computer assistant. Even though I am not impressed with Best buy either but I would recommend them over this crappy service and rip off company.
I would not buy from them again we bought two used laptops for 1,000 and after less thantwo years they are failing. – If you want to throw away your money then give it to me instead. We bought two IBM laptops T30 and T41 and we regret it now. It has been less than two years and we have had problems with them. First the Wifi on the T41 was not working. Harddrive died. Now both of their video cards are failing. They say now that if they had know about the poor design of the motherboards they wouldn't have sold them to us. But they are keeping the profit. The owner was a radio personality who would talk about computers but don't be fooled by the so called expertise they will not stand behind the products. When the T41 had the hard drive failure two days before the warranty expired they mentioned the issue to us but hoped this one wasn't going to be a problem with the video card, so they knew. The problem with IBMs is that they are stout ( too heavy) and they bend the motherboard if you hold it with one hand. I noticed now Budget is advertising that they build units for folks and they aren't pushing all the used IBM laptops in their tv ads. We spent 600 on the T41 and 400 on the T30 and for 1,000 we got to use these machines about two years and that is a costly mistake. I would never buy from another reseller like this. Also they ghost the software onto the machines which is not a good idea if you have problems. Always get the software disks. They like to say you can just drop it off and they will re-ghost it for free but what if they go out of businss or if you don't live close by? Also sales men there have this tacky way of calling younger women customers "sweetie" which my daughters found extremely condesending. With the T41 they did offer a bone to us. Yeah they would sell us another T42 or R51 200.00 off so it would only be 300.00. This 300.00 is a magic number for them. They did omit the fact that some of the T42 don't have the cages on the motherboards and the fact that the cages are just a bandaid IBM did and it doesn't really remedy the problem. The batteries were bad too.
