Yummy Burgers – Red Robin offers a great variety of burgers. Although they offer a great selection of burgers, the chicken variety selection does not have as much offers as its counterpart, the beef. Anyways, my boyfriend and I are always delighted to go to Red Robin. Their burgers are great...but I must say it's somewhat expensive...$10 for a burger.
Colorful, chaotic restaurant promises loaded burgers and endless fries for kids and a fully stocked bar for their parents. – In Short
With a bright red color scheme, enormous booths and TVs galore (even in the bathrooms), this loud, lively spot aims to make families feel right at home. The creative menu offers 22 different burgers--from teriyaki-marinated Bansai with grilled pineapple to the 5 Alarm with pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, salsa and chipotle mayo. Soups, salads, and entrees of fajitas, fish and chips and Cajun-spiced shrimp round out the casual American menu.
Very good!! – the service at red robin is always great, and food is amazing!! YUM! Although the menu is pricey, you get your moneys worth. The burgers and chicken burgers are awesome, the steak fries are great, and even their soups are very good. I always order clam chowder, which is probably the cheapest thing on the menu. Their salads are good too, and come in very large portions. Red robin is a good hangout, very good for either groups or just yourself and a date.
Why waste your time, go to Burgerville – Burgerville burgers are a chain of about 50 stores in the Portland metropolis that are hands down the best burgers in town. They never freeze their meet like every other competitor, handmade onion rings , thick real milk milkshakes, all for a big discount on these restaurants. Try them out, i moved to seattle and dont have any up here so i make a trip down to portland once a month just to have a burger (and enjoy the drive!).
Kids, calorie bombs – Red Robin is a great place for parents the exert no control over their kids. Wait staff is young and patient and the volume is very loud.
Frankly the food is mediocre at best. Somewhat bland, but you can find a gem on the menu. Just beware - it is as fatty as it gets. Calorie bombs.
Fruit shakes are great - but find out how much fat - ouch!
A Sure Bet – At the time of this writing, there was just one other reviewer. He suggests going to Portland's non-chain restaurants instead.
I am all for trying new places and am usually rewarded, but I have been frequently burned... particularly in Portland. I even used Citysearch's Top 10 list to find places like Skyline Restaurant and Chinese Moon but was very disappointed (see my reviews there for more info).
Red Robin is a chain, yes. That may make it less hip to some, but it also means quality, service, and value. You won't find many places with a better burger and, though RR's prices have crept higher recently, you get quite a meal for under $10.
Token Robins – I was surprised to see Red Robin on the list of 'Best Burgers in Portland'. There are so many others that are far more worthy of mention than this sixteen year old hang-out chain establishment. Don't get me wrong, the food is OK but not worthy of this list. Try Starlight Cafe on se 17th or the new Jett Burger in Camas, Wa for a real 'Tweet'. Either one blow the backdoors off of Red Robin. Go places where the chefs get to tinker...Usually the food is better.
