NOT ENOUGH RICE! – This is the third time we have ordered two take out entrees and they only provided one tiny little container of rice. We asked for sufficient rice for the dishes and they said that we would have to pay extra for more rice. I said that I am just requesting the amount of rice proportionate for the entrees, and she said again, "If you want more rice you have to pay extra." She would'nt even listen, so I told her I would never order take-out from them again. She didn't seem to care that she had lost a good customer over something as cheap as rice that should be provided any way. WON'T GO BACK!!!
Excellent Thai in Lake Grove – Singha has been in Lake Grove for years, it is well established and no wonder it remains a local favorite! We had a very nice, intimate, quiet and relaxing dinner on a Saturday night, recently. The food was excellent and always is. The restaurant was not and never is very crowded, which is a huge surprise since Lake Grove has so few restaurants. (Most people get take out from here) But we loved the privacy and 1:1 personalized service. We've been there when it was much busier and it wasn't any different (service remained great). I love Thai food and Singha makes some of the best Thai dishes around. They have many "uniquie" dishes that 'chain-type' Thai restaurants don't have. We ordered a Yum Yum Beef salad to start, the flavors were perfect, I could have just ordered that for my entree. We also in the past tried their salad, spring rolls and Som Tum (papaya salad), all excellent and not heavy. For entress we've tried many of them, including their specials. (I have never had one that was average, so I feel confident ALL of their entress are incredibly tasty!) Their food is a delight and I would eat here once a week, but my husband is more of a meat and potatoes man. Fortunally, he loves Singha. For some constructive criticism, I would encourage a cosmetic remodel, making it more 2008 (rather than 1990s decor). I have been going there since then, and the place is remarkably clean, but could use a little remodel (hip paint colors, lighting, linens) to get new patrons. Also, savvy advertising would help. They honestly have a niche in that they offer some unique (traditional Thai) dishes that few "Americanised" restaurants would attempt to offer. We really want Singha to remain in Lake Grove, it's adorable and food is perfect!!
Great Thai food, good value and service. – I LOVE this place. I go there for lunch quite often and recommends that to all my friends. They cook authentic Thai food, wait staff is always friendly and lunch time menu is good value from money.
Great! Fast and Good for lunch – I was in and out in 30 minutes! It is a very nice restaurant, and a good place for lunch.
Always looking for good Thai – I have been to Singha Thai many times, because of it's location. The food is very good and always made to fit my tastes. The wait staff has always been very pleasant. The decor is also very nice, something about drinking out of nice stemware, make a meal much more elegant. The only con I see though is the value. Otherwise an all around good place to eat. Also, it is right next to my other fav resaurant, La Provence!
