I got a couple orders to go on Christmas day. I got there to pick it up at 12:00 noon. The food was dried out and was awful. At 12 noon it should have been fresh and tasty, instead it was like leftovers warmed up. This has happened one too many times. It is time to find a new restaurant. This was the last straw with this place.
It's the way it's always been. – I've been in this neighborhood for 17 years. The Dancing Dragon is plain old American cantonese food just like it was in the 1970's.
I don't understand how anyone could complain about clean. The place always seemed acceptable. This place is only a half mile away from me, so I see them quite often.
One thing you have to say about them is that they are quick. It usually only takes a few minutes for a to go order.
On the deep fried stuff, the oil is always fresh. I would say you want to stick with the numbered dinners and stay away from their spring rolls.
Not fantastic cuisine, but the price is good. People in the neighborhood usually won't drive to Hillsboro's other cantonese restaurant, 3 miles away.
This place is the height of mediocrity, but if you wanted to eat in a hurry.... The service is usually good. They are friendly.
B- or on a bad day C+
The worst Chinese food I've ever had – We've been here on two occasions.....the first time by choice, the second time with a group of people who wanted to try the place. Both times the food was horrible and the place was very dirty and unkept. I've had Chinese food frozen dinners which were much better than this place.
American Chinese as it should be – This isn't Chinese food, its American Chinese food. If you understand that going in (krinkle cut carrots in the sweet/sour port) then your experience will be much better.
I love the fried rice and Almond Chicken Subgum combo and its the same as its been for the last 20 years my family has been eating it there.
I do always take it to go, the restuarant needs serious upkeep: Smokey, old, a little dirty.
Overall, there are way better places for Chinese / Vietnamese / Mandarin / Thai / Korean food in the Metro area but for American Chinese its either this one or the Wan-Q that takes my money :)
Terrible food – This was possibly the worst chinese food I have ever had. Maybe I didn't try the right dish but the Mandarin chicken I had was more mushy breading than chicken. I won't be going back to try anything else.
Best Chinese restaurant in Oregon – The best there is. It's clean, consistent and the owners have been there my whole life. No Chinese food ever compares.
It's a gamble... – Sometimes good sometimes bad. They can have very good food but as of late they have had old dried out food and it has not been very good. Fried Rice has been very plain. (rice with soy)
BBQ Pork has been very dry and last time I was in they went from five or six slices down to three with my meal.
Service is good but when it comes to the quality I would go some place else.
Dancing Dragon Chinese – I have been frequenting this resteraunt since five and have never had a bad experience to date. They are prompt, helpful and the price versus portion rate is wonderful. Great with kids as well.
it's all about the eggflower – Dancing Dragon has the best eggflower soup I have ever had - it is thick and full of vegetables and simply delicious. The other food has always been consistently good - my favorite dish is the Dancing Dragon chow mein WITH pan fried noodles - make sure to ask for hot oil on the side to dribble over! The inside is not incredibly themed, and they play cheesy lite listening music, but service is attentive. My favorite place on the westside.
Good service, ok food – The service was good, I think they came by to fill my glass 7 or 8 times. The place was pretty much empty, maybe 4-5 parties. The place did smell like stale smoke, and also smoke seemed to drift in from the attached bar. The white rice was dry, and the fried rice tasted old. The fried shrimp was pretty good. The dishes averaged around $7.50. I would probably go somewhere else before going back.
