A Spa at the Gym – My husband and I enjoyed a nice couples massage here. The service was friendly and very professional, and our massage therapists (Victor and a shorter, cheerful woman whose name I can't remember) were very good. However, I was put off by the gym-like atmosphere. Once you dress down, you're in your robe and waiting in the hallway with everyone; not exactly relaxing. Our massage room was right off the main hallway, and we could hear everything going on, from children running to carts of equipment being wheeled. The noise was very distracting, making it more difficult to relax. The locker rooms are stocked with amenities, but the squealing teenage girls in it detracted from them. Additionally, children were playing in the hot tub as we tried to relax after the massage, which is simply inappropriate. There was plenty of room for them to play in the pool, with plenty of toys; a hot tub is not an appropriate place for a child to play! In summary, the service was great; the atmosphere was not.
Great hands on service from Ken – Ken is the one who keeps me going for the repeat visits. He has the best hands on massage technique - by combining the strength of swedish flow (overall area) and Japanese Shiatsu (focused area). I feel like a different person after I have received the treat. I had an auto accident in July. By having his massage regularly, the pain has been reduced quickly.
This athletic club and spa is a citadel of calm in a sprawling, suburban setting. – In Short
Located in the posh, modern Hawthorn Farm Athletic Club, this serene haven provides services for club members and nonmembers seeking relaxation. The building resembles a high-tech campus, but after signing in at the concierge desk, visitors are led to a place where sweatshirts and fluorescent lights give way to white robes and soothing scents. A variety of aromatherapeutic and herbal massages and body treatments are available, and services include the full use of club facilities.
Shower Room was INCREDIBLE – To the SPA.. It was my very first experience and I had the chocolate body wrap. The technician was very nice and I was very nervous and chatted the whole time. Next time I will definitely TRY to be QUIET and relax. The wrap was really nice and it wasn't just thrown on.. it felt like a massage, too. I LOVE massage. She wrapped me up like a mummy and let me rest for a bit which was really nice.
The best part was the rinse! I was escorted to a private room which was the size of a GIANT walk in closet.. there were three different shower heads: a waterfall, a rain fall, and regular. The entire room was not a "shower" though.. no curtain, just beautiful natural rock type landscape and a huge plant made it feel very tropical. It was SO nice.
What is all the talk about – Okay so I have read reviews, I have talked to people and then I went myself. Let me just say that reviews are so personal, I say this as I am writing one... Hmmm? But seriously, I did the research and I was somewhat impressed and somewhat leary, but I decided to check it all out anyhow. I was stunned. I expected an uptight person at the desk who just tries to rush me off. I was helped out by the most adorable girl ever! I say girl but she was probably in her 20's, she showed my back and I was given a robe, and WINE!! Bliss, bliss, bliss. Excellent service loved it all around.
Memorable – My girlfriend surprised with a package from The Pointe. As a guy, I was thrilled about the massage, and not excited about the facial. She insisted I try it all. Hesitantly, I checked in and found the desk staff put me right at ease. She assured me I would like the facial, but if I wanted I could change the service to something else. Too embarrassed to change, I just went ahead and had both treatments. Alyssa provided one the best massages I've ever had. The facial was a surprise. I thought it would be miserable, but it was even better than the massage. I hate to admit it, my girlfriend was right. We had a great time.
Wonderful friends day out! – My friends and I recently spent an afternoon being pampered at the Pointe getting the most amazing pedicures. The chairs or thrones are incredibly and the staff were amazing and made us feel like queens. The hot towles, sugar scrub and parrafin dip were all wonderful and they even offer mimosas. I would defintly recommend if you need to get away with friends this is the place to go they know how to treat you!!!!
Disappointed – Ok.....my massage with Victor was great. But, the pedicures were mediocre. Not a lot of time spent on massage. There is too much noise coming from the locker rooms, kids were running up and down the halls. Too much noise to really relax and enjoy the experience. The front desk staff wasn't that friendly. And they totally suck at acrylic nails and fills. They started lifting that same evening. For the price you pay for their services....I expect a little more professionalism.
The Best Facial EVER! – I was having an intense break out time during the holidays and wanted to treat myself to a facial. I ended up making an appointment with Whitney....it was the best decision I made. She was very gentle and helped to soothe my skin and eliminate the blemishes. If you want an amazing facial, go to Whitney...she really knows her stuff!
the best spa in the west coast – This is the best spa i have had a treatment at in my life, i have been all around the world and have not found a more relaxing environment, the staff is amazing, you have to go here. they are consistent every time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
