Everything they tell you is a lie. You did not "win" anything. This is what happens to your information when you try to win a car or money from a window company. Your info is sold to companies like Spot. If you actually let them into your house they will try to scare you into getting a system. If you say no, they will have a fake phone call to their boss, and lower the price. Their whole sales pitch is a lie. I know because I used to work for them. A lot of people in the company are just trying to make a living, but there are definitely some real scumbags that work for the company. The sales director "Ed Brittle" is a fat SOB, who tells so many lies in a day, that he wouldn't know the truth if he drank it in a diet Coke. They treat employees like they are expendable nobodies.
If you want a security system, which everyone should, just call 3 companies through a google search, interview them all, and sign with the one you like. Just don't every fall for Spot's lies.
I also got a Robo dialed telemarketing call on my cell phone. I am on the FCC do not call list. Got a call back about 20 minutes later and spoke with a person at Spot. After I got his company name and city I informed him that the Robo calls were illegal in Washington state. His answer was that his company did not place the calls, but in fact , a third party company was responsible.
Very shady tactics and if a company cannot market themselves in an honest and transparent way, what about the rest of their business practices? To the reviewer who pointed out that the systems were monitored by Midtronics, search for reviews from that company as well. Also very shady practices and very poor reviews. DON'T purchase from companies that market this way, do your homework and purchase from a company that is up front thru and thru.
I have never been tele marketed by Spot Security. BUT I was called by this company. As a result of that call I am now a happy customer!
A manager called me from Spot Security several months ago to inform me that my mother was inquiring about an alarm, once this female manager found out that my mother was 82 years old she asked my mother if she had any one that helped her make these kinds of decisions and got my number from her.
I was surprised when I got the call and defensive at first thinking that most companies take advantage of elderly people. I talked with the woman for almost an hour that day. What got me that day was the care this woman took with me discussing different options for my mother. Her words were "If it were my mom, I would want someone to do the same". I did not get a security system for my mother that day, and my family has moved her to an assisted living at this time.
But the experience and time took with me that day, from someone at a company made an impact on me- you just dont get that anymore.
3 months after that call my husband and I closed on a home in SE Portland - Then my locksmith referred us to get an alarm. It reminded me of Spot. I told my locksmith the story of my mother, and he said he would pass on Spot Security's information to more of his customers.
Sometimes little things come back. To the manager that took the time that day, Thank you, from the Brad and Selden family.
(Also citysearch, it would be nice to see more reviews about customer service or products on these sights, very little information is given to help someone with the actual service, only the initial contact.)
Several months ago I got robo-telemarketing calls multiple times a day from these guys. I finally left my contact info just so I could talk to a human so they knew how incredibly irritating it is. The woman I spoke to was defensive and completely unapologetic.
The robocalls just started back up this morning, from a new number. These people are awful. I can't possibly imagine entrusting my security to an outfit that hires bottom feeder telemarketers like this.
I've also reported both numbers to the FCC. I believe that unsolicited robocalls are illegal.
I don't appreciate the daily telemarketing calls. I don't have any other experience with your company, but marketing tactics this agressive make me want to keep it that way.
This company hires telemarketers to cold call people. The telemarketers call all hours of the day and continue to do so even after requesting them to stop.
Quit calling me!!! There is already several people that is turning you in to the FCC. for all the telemarketing calls. I, myself get an average of 4 calls a day. If I want to buy your crap, I'll call you, don't call me!!
Stop calling me. It is getting really old. I get like 5 calls a day from your company and you never leave a message.
Number One In the Industry – To the person that wrote the nasty review about the company being scumbags. Lets post where you work. Go ahead, I would like to google your real name or employer. ANYONE can post negative reviews, and most scumbags with to much time are the one that actually do. They are mad they can't get their way. YOU are not even giving real people the opportunity to have a real opinion. HMMMM, the phone numbers you posted are not even to Spot Security; THEY aren't even real numbers?!!! The company employs hundreds of good honest people and has been in business a very long time - - So before you post perhaps you should be careful what you put out there. Do your research.. I know for a fact that no one will take that seriously. Really if you are getting some kind of a marketing call, you should report it, there are laws and Ive been to Spot and they always follow them. SOOO, where do you work again?
Bad Business - check BBB & Oregon DOJ – The positive reviews MUST be shills, if you read them, 90% look like they're written by the same illiterate. Check the Oregon BBB website for a link to their settlement with the Oregon Department of Justice. It's a laundry list of the scummiest business practices around. They are still violating the do-not-call list and telling people they've 'won' 'free' alarm systems. If you're one of the thousands of people on the do-not-call list getting calls from 978-570-2446, it's Spot Security.
