HORRIBLE! Go somewhere else! – Such a disappointing experience. So many problems it would be hard to write them all here. The bride was treated like it was was an imposition for them to do anything for her.
The owner was horribly rude and just plain mean. They called the bride and told her SHE had to call all of the bridesmaids to let them know their dresses were in and to come pick them up. Really! All of the bridesmaids filled out cards with our phone numbers and email addresses, but they said it wasn't their job to contact us.
Once we went in to pick up our dresses is where it really got ridiculous. Every bridesmaid was unhappy with how they were treated.
After I paid for the dress, paid for alterations and came to pick it up, they brought it out and it looked like it had come out of a laundry basket....hideous! I asked the girl what happened to it and she said that is how they end up when they put them in the bags to hang...really! BUT...for an extra fee they would steam it for me and I could pick it up in a few days.
Just horrible, go anywhere else and you will be taken care of better.
Horrible Experience – WORST RETAIL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. We were so discusted with Tower Bridal that we had to go as far as consulting a lawyer. There were numerous problems that happened, including dealing with the witch of an owner, but the big huge thing that almost ruined our wedding happened as follows; a week & a half before my wedding day I was scheduled to pick up my newly altered, cleaned and pressed wedding dress. Not only was it not ready, but it was DIRTY!! It had pit stains, dirt smudges and TEARS under the bust. Now how does a brand new, pricey wedding dress that has only been worn by me once to get it fitted be dirty and torn? They pretended like they didn't know what happened, but we made sure to take pictures. Then they proceeded to argue with me about getting the alterations done, and cleaned in time. They were saying none of these things were included in the price, even though they had written down that alterations, cleaning and pressing were free. The owner claimed, although she was the one that wrote the contract, that the wording wasn't clear enough, so we wouldn't have to pay for cleaning, but the alterations and pressing I had to pay for. This was on a wednesday, and they were saying they couldn't get the dress to the cleaners until the following monday, for reasons unknown to me. So we had to call the cleaners, make arrangements with them after explaining the situation, and make sure it all happened promptly. It was so scary because this was a week and a half before my wedding, and I still needed to put a pettycoat in the dress, which we had explained to Tower many times. Obviously this was the worst retail experience of our lives, and don't walk, but run the other way if you were thinking of going in there. Terrible.
Put Tower on your list of stores to try! – I'm surprised by the bad reviews. My salesperson, Cherie, was really nice without being pushy. I didn't end up buying my dress from this store, but it did have my second favorite dress. I think there's a decent selection, and maybe everyone should just ask for Cherie when they go there to get great service!
Nice experience – My daughter tried on over 30 dresses in bridal shops all over the metro area before finding her dress at Tower Bridal. We felt welcome in the store and were allowed to look through all the dresses we wanted throughout the store. My daughter tried on several before finding her dress. She was not rushed and the dress was perfect for her. They were patient as she tried on shoes and veils to compliment the dress. The woman who did the alterations was the sweetest lady and did an amazing job. The dress was perfect and my daughter was beautiful. We also selected the maid of honor and bridesmaid dresses for the wedding party with the attendants living in different parts of the country. Everything turned out reallyl well.
Worst experience, awful staff... – I went into Tower Bridal in the early afternoon while I was in town (I live two hours from Portland) with my mother; we only went there after we made a call to see if anyone could fit us into the schedule, and we were told that they could. Upon walking in to the store I was addressed by the first sales women, if you can call her that, and was asked what I was looking for in a very "snipppy" tone; when I showed the woman the photo of the dress I have been looking for, she turned up her nose and laughed at me saying it was a "very high end dress". She said it in a way that made me feel that she thought I couldn't afford it, and then she alerts me with the same rude smirk on her face that the largest size they have is a 12 (which I am), and with her looking extremely cross at me I told her I was a 12 depending on the bust...She the said our sales woman would be back from the restroom shortly, so my mother and I looked around hoping the next employee would be more helpful. She walked over with the same chip on her shoulder snapping rude comments at everything we had to say. I told her I wasn't set on a dress style and was up for suggestions, she said she didn't know what that meant... so after ten or so minutes of her making me feel like I had the plauge we decided we did not want to spend our money there and went to leave, the sales woman followed after us handing me a business card and snidely saying "We do appreciate those appointments", to which we said that we called in advance.
I have never felt more unwelcome in a store. Shopping for your wedding gown is supposed to be a wonderful, fun, and exciting experience. This felt like that scene from Pretty Woman when the sales women wouldn't help Julia Roberts character. I went Ania's, that is where you want to go in Portland or style, class and customer service. I will never go back to Tower or suggest it to another woman!!!
Just wanted to let everyone know we went to Tower Bridal on Sunday . We were treated so nice ..You can look at all the dresses and make choices for yourself. My daughter found her dress there.....Thank you Tower Bridal for making it a special day......
Terrible Customer Service! Stay far away! – I never right reviews. I even had to register to write this, but I was treated so horribly I thought other should know. Right when I walked in the door I was greeted with an attitude. I was five minutes late and even called to inform. I should have known to turn away then, by her tone of her voice on the phone. The lady on the phone told me not to worry and come on in. When we arrived they looked at me like I was crazy. She had the worst attitude. I stepped in the door and the three girls at the counter were rolling their eyes with their arms crossed. Now I consider myself a reasonable person but this place should not be in business. It’s too bad because I was ready to make a purchase but now I find myself writing an awful review. I’ve never been so disappointed in my life, Tower Bridal needs to learn a thing or two about customer service. If you’re planning on going, do yourself a favor and stay far away, don’t let them ruin your wedding experience because trying on dresses is supposed to be a wonderful moment!
pretty good experience overall – I just signed up to write this review because its hard to tell how many of these reviews are actually from real customers. It seems like competing bridal stores are maybe writing the terrible reviews, and that Tower's own staff are writing the perfect reviews--no real middle ground. Anyway, I had a pretty good experience at Tower Bridal.
The first time I went in without an appointment, and the sales girl was actually very friendly and was able to help me. I was able to look through the selection myself and grab dresses I liked. The sales girl was patient and not too pushy, which was nice. I ended up loving two of the dresses and decided to come back later after thinking the decision over.
When I went back to buy the dress, the experience was not as great. I came in with my mom and sister a half hour before they closed and a different sales girl did not even say 'hello' before immediately telling me that they were closing soon. She changed her rude tone once I let her know I just planned on buying a dress.
My sister wanted to try on a few bridesmaid dresses, and we were told that we had plenty of time. But then an older saleslady (maybe owner?) came over while she was trying on dresses to tell us that they had a policy about not letting customers try on dresses 15 minutes to closing time or something like that. She was super rude about it (and the salesgirl had said we had time), and I so I told my sister we would take the rest of our business elsewhere. The owner tried to back track a little then.
We had already bought my wedding dress before the owner turned bitchy, otherwise I would have bought it somewhere else. The dress actually ended up coming in about 2 months early, which was great. Overall, the experience was very good---too bad the owner made such a terrible impression.
Why make an appointment??? – I actually joined just so I could write this review, since it was going to be a trek to get to pdx for dress shopping figured I would read the reviews to get an idea of what to expect at the places I made appointments. The reviews for tower were spot on. I walked in there for my appointment to a luke warm greeting - when making my appointment over the phone I had specifically requested a dress by designer/style number which they assured me they had - after much fuss and being told my number was incorrect my mom/I found it in the catalog listed under the style number I gave them. Once this fiasco was resolved we sorted through the gowns to find the dress there was the confusion of what room I was too use. Once we got settled I had came prepared with photos of the dress styles I was looking for...instead of going to get gowns that matched my preference I was told to look through the racks to find 4 more gowns I liked....hmmmm, I don't know their inventory and the dresses are in bags crammed together how am I suppose to tell. Why make an appointment if I am going to sort through dresses anyway. Needless to say I picked my 4 and called it good. I did actually find one that I liked and asked about lead times - since my wedding is in 4.5 months I knew I would need to rush any dress I ordered and was well versed in the designers cutoff dates and made my deadline clear when making my appointment. When asked she said all designers had a 5 month lead time and the soonest I could get my dress was 4 months? Granted she was new but you know what newbies should be placed with a more experienced sales person until they learn the ropes. Since I was determined to order my dress this weekend I was ready to buy I ended up purchasing my dress at Charolettes where the girl brought me 25+ dresses until we found the perfect one - we made bunch of changes to the dress and added a rush it will be here in 3 months. Things can happen but the professionalism I experienced at Charlottes gave me the faith my dress will arrived as ordered on or close to the date they quoted...I could not say the same to Tower.
AWEFUL ESTABLISHENT – We walked in without an appointment knowing that we may or may not be assisted in our bridal gown purchas. Just browsing a bit. The sales assoicitates were very very rude and passive aggressive towards us. Apparently if you don't have an appointment they trat you like a theif in their store. basically heckling you about "requiring appointments" until finally you submit and in our case just leave to get away from the craziness!!
the dresses were really over priced with a very limited selection. We went to Rosewood Bridal in Tigard. No appointment needed. Fantastic selection and prices. and i bought a dress!!!
