BEWARE: There is no doubt in my mind that any positive reviews on this page were written by Inner Sound friends and family to contrast the terrible reviews that appear elsewhere. They not only didn't repair my speakers, but when I asked that they be returned, they returned one torn and one literally in pieces. They were indifferent, smug and frankly knew very little about what it is they actually do. And, they had the nerve to keep my estimate charge. If this review stops even one person from using Inner Sound, I did my job.
Just had my Fender amp fixed there. Tube and speaker issue. They're Fender, Marshall, & Mesa authorized, so I know they actually play a guitar through my amp and know what they're doing. Took 2 weeks (normal), did a really nice job & even cleaned it up a bit. Had some home audio equipment (subwoofer & vintage Marantz stereo) fixed a few years ago & still going strong. Not many good repair shops left in town and glad they're still around. Gladly use 'em in the future.
Trustworthy/dependable – Jay, the owner, is a stand-up guy. And he knows his stuff. He doesn't give his service away - hey, it's a business - but if it's doable under reasonable circumstances, these guys should be able to get it done. Been doing business there since the mid-80's.
These guys know electronics repair – Great customer service, fixed my HK receiver - authorized dealer. They actually told me to place the receiver in their work queue and see if it was still under warranty; if it was, they would help me with shipping it to HK; if it wasn't under warranty they would then do the work. Instead of just charging me to fix, they gave me options.
They are one of the only stereo repair places I know of, so be prepared to potentially wait a while (you can pay more for rush fixes).
yes, i'd entrust them again (but hopefully i won't have to) – i googled "morrison" for a repair place thinking this was the one mentioned by the music shop, called them up on a saturday and was happy that they were open. i brought in my reference amp and was surprised that this isn't the place i'd had in mind. regardless, my amp is a brand that they service, so i decided to have them look at it. i was contacted after a few weeks with an estimate pending the availability of a factory part. then they let me know that it was available and how much, and fast forward, i now have it back in top shape. i've also now had the chance to review the first place that i'd originally thought i'd googled as a second piece of gear needed attention before i'd gotten the amp back. the experiences are radically different. if i need repair work in the future, i know exactly where i'll go for in town work. i do not work for this company nor do i know anyone who does, and i offer this review as there is just 1 here (so far). inner sound was professional and courteous. no where on their paperwork does it say "please avoid calling to check on a repair unless absolutely necessary...time spent on the phone is time that could be spent making progress towards your repair. we will definitely call you when we have word on your repair." i called after a month after being told it would be a week to 2 weeks and felt i'd made a mistake by doing so. a complete 180, night and day experience. it's good to have options and that there's more than one place in town, but i'll know for next time. i worked in music retail for a family run business in texas and we had a repair department that provided service (albeit usually with lengthy turnaround times) so i don't think i'm being harsh. i've been on both sides of the counter and i'm glad that these guys use the phone to their advantage and provide good communication as well as service.
great electronics repair – Convenient and easy, plus an excellent repair place for Yamaha electronics. They are a certified Yamaha repair shop
