Awful. I have no idea why anyone would hang out here, unless they wanted to eat some of Portland's worst Mexican food in a dark smoky space. We were served tortilla chips that reeked of fetid oil. Upon pointing this out to the waitress she smelled them and decared they were perfectly fine. I've met one nice bartender and one that had a serious attitude. I guess you can get a marginal pizza for pretty cheap here, but you can do the same by staying home and dialing the phone. With the other much better eating and drinking options within walking distance, I would not recommend bothering with this place.

Average Mexican Food, Good Pizza, oh and heavy pourers. When you first walk into Blaze Jose's the first thing that greats you is smoke. So, if you aren't a smoker, or are offended by such things well...move immediately to the closed off non-smoking area or leave. That said, Blaze Jose's has a lot going for it. The prices are decent. The location is near the freeway. The wait staff is great (friendly and awnry all wrapped up in one). The music plays at a decent level and is always a quirky mix. They make really strong drinks. Oh, and you can get a pretty decent pie (pizza) or mexican dish to soak up the alcohol.

Got to Blaze's long enough and you will get a cheers sort of vibe. Still, it's a great place to meet after work and let off some steam, have a little party/get together, or just want to go out and have a decent reasonably priced meal.

It's a Neighborhood Place. Really nice staff who cater to the neighborhood clientele. The place is funky and fun inside, nd has been remodeled since I last visited.

Worth visiting if you live within walking distance. I can't see anyone taking a special trip here though. Sometimes has live music.
