Rows & rows of CD's, vinyls & merchandise. Great deals can be found in the used section. Also see store website for in store concerts. Friendly, helpful staff.

There are much better independent record stores out there. – Every once in a while, my frustration w/ MM wears off and I return, only to be greeted with the reasons why I decide to primarily visit other Portland stores or order my music over the web. Repeatedly, I've seen promos clearly stamped by the distributor as "not for sale" with hefty price tags on them, and snobbish treatment by the staff when I have questions, particularly today, when the price tags did not equate to the advertised '20% off all DVDs month' sale. I was treated as though I was rude for asking for clarification. I'm all about supporting independent stores because I value the grassroots quality of music community, but MM kills that love. I'm not surprised that local record shops tragically continue to shut down if they treat music lovers in a way similar to how Music Millennium does.

Quality recorded and live music under one roof since 1969. – In Short
In addition to its mass of popular music, Music Millennium carries a respectable collection of foreign recordings. The classical section, which is actually a store in its own right, also offers an amazing selection. If the store doesn't carry it--which is rare--an employee can go to the "Big Book" and find out if it can be ordered. Music Millennium also has free in-store performances by well-known artists.
