I went two different times a few years ago and both times the staff was rude, actually, there was a young girl that checked us in that was nice but she told us the price would be x amount but when we went to leave she was gone and the owner, who was very rude, insisted we pay a higher price! She and another groomer where both too physical (and I know too physical, I used to work in a groom shop and the dogs there were NEVER manhandled like this!) with the dogs they were grooming and on multiple occasions would leave a dog standing on the groom table unattended.

Also, for self service dogs... the measure your dog's size by the height of the dog's head like idiots, in stead of by the shoulder like any sensible dog savvy person would do!

Great service and tools for dog washing – I took my German Shepherd there to give him a bath myself. The tubs were large enough for him, the ramp was SO much better than steps, the water was warm and the spray hose was long. The shampoo didn't bubble much so I think I need to use more next time. There is a choke chain collar to use to tether your dog. I just put it on collar instead of choke and he was fine. Drying was a hoot because he was blowing his coat. I received friendly and good advice from the staff and there were no complaints even though we were knee deep in fur and I hadn't realized they had closed! I plan on returning and really appreciate them being there.

HORRIBLE!! – We utilized the self dog wash today and were given a heavy chain to put around my dog's neck that literally choked her. I took it off and the woman who appeared to be the owner rudely exclaimed "You HAVE to use the chain!". Really!?! My dog is very well mannered, has never jumped out of a tub while being bathed, and there were no other dogs present!! What difference does it make?? On top of that, the tubs don't drain properly, they use these wooden planks that are full of slime and bacteria, and the ear wash is some kind of soapy residue crap! DO NOT waste your money or time here, it's absolutely unacceptable. How the owner could even bother to get business is beyond me. I can't find any kind words for the woman!

Well, can't please everyone. Lets see, "heavy chain that literally choked her"? Yes, we use choke chain collars to secure dogs in the tub so that they can't jump out and hurt themselves and it by NO means was choking her dog. We offer as many extensions and the custmer may want or need as long as dog is secure. POSTED TWO TIMES ON OUR FRONT ENTERANCE IT SAYS "ALL DOGS MUST BE RESTRAINED AT ALL TIMES". This is to make sure that "all" dogs are safe in our dog wash. Our wooden racks are in the bottom of each tub so that the dogs don't slip and slide around which could hurt the dog. These tubs/racks are cleaned between every dog and deep cleaned every Sunday. Sounds like this customer wouldn't be happy no matter what we offer.

AWFUL PLACE! – Groomer injured my dog, appears to have used something on inside of ears to groom and left several cuts. I had to take dog to vet's for treatment! Cost over $100 for vet bill, plus the grooming cost. Called owner and initially she was quite nice, but when I went to get a partial payment of vet bill, owner told me I had to talk with groomer, who argued with me, told me she did not do anything wrong, and then wanted to make it my fault by saying to take better care of my dog -- I did not injure my dog, she did - vet will be happy to testify in small claims court against these people. HORRIBLE PLACE!

Pam is a great groomer – If you have ever moved, you know how hard it is to find services like a new doctor, vet, etc. Getting a new groomer eventually pops up on that list.

I found this place via CitySearch, and I'm so glad I did. Pam is the perfect groomer for my 13-year-old cranky Shih Tzu. She is super patient and does a great job.

Excellent service – The staff at Bowsers really knows their stuff! Colleen and her staff keep cards to note how we like our dog groomed (both winter cut and summer cut). They understand that you can trim long-haired dogs, just not too short. When our dog rolled in something, we took him straight in for a self-wash. Colleen took one look at our faces and handed us a special "stinky" shampoo. She ran through their smelly protocol - use this entire bottle, use these combs to work through the gunk, then wash again with regular shampoo, don't forget to check your yard when you get home to find the smelly spot he rolled in.........

The bathtubs are large enough for big dogs, they have ramps for easy use, and plenty of room for maneuvering, both human and canine. Bowsers has plenty of clean towels, brushes and combs, and even oilcloth aprons to keep you (mostly) dry.

Most importantly, Bowsers does not use drying kennels after bathing dogs. Drying kennels can be dangerous (plus our dog just hates them). They use a high-powered blower with low heat in a booth as opposed to a cage. It's a really effective method for removing the loose hair.

Best ever – This is the best do-it-yourself dog bathing place I have ever used. They make it easy for large dogs to get into the tubs, have tubs of varying sizes, water that is set at the correct temperature, all the shampoos, conditioners, brushes and implements you need for grooming, large drying areas that give you enough room to move around. The shop is kept clean, and there is a grooming service if you want it. The staff is very helpful.
