I went there 2 years ago...NEVER AGAIN. – I came here a long time ago since it was close to where I lived at the time. I went in and I have very fair skin and was also told that 7 min. would be ok. I am Latin, so I have dark features but light skin. I ALSO like the other reviewer wrote, had MAJOR sunburn on my back and shoulders...on the first time! I had white lines the shape of the tanning bulbs all down the back side of my body, red cheeks and forehead, an uneven burnt tan. That is not normal! I had to go to Fred Meyer and buy some aloe gel and have my family take turns rubbing it on. HORRIBLE experience, every time I drive by I cringe.
I was so mad that I didn't bother asking for a refund or complain, but thinking about it now, maybe I should have! Maybe would of saved someone from a sunburn, skin cancer, or wasting their time on this place.
Dangerous – I am new to tanning and decided to give this place a try since they had a good price and are close to home. I went the first time and was told to just lie in the regular bed for 7 minutes and relax. Afterwards I was a bit red and had some funny white lines on my back. I was then told I should shift a bit during tanning so I wouldn't get the lines. Each person behind the desk gave me different advice. Then, after two weeks, I went in to use one of my complementary high efficiency bed tanning sessions. The owner was behind the counter and explained how the high efficiency beds were more mild and I could actually go longer in one of those. He recommended 10 minutes after I told him I was in a regular bed for 9 with no ill effects. That night I had one of the worst sunburns of my life over 80 percent of my body. The sunburn lasted for more than two days. I trusted the owner of the company to be knowledgeable and not put me at risk for skin cancer, or give me a bad sunburn. Fortunately, the owner admitted his mistake and gave me a refund.
Worst Tanning Place Ever! – I went to Tanlines yesterday and my experience was horrible. The girl working at the front desk suggest I go in to the high-performance bed for 7 minutes and now I am red as a lobster. I am in so much pain I can barely sit down or walk. My skin is obviously very very very fair and she looked at my record and was like well I last time you went in for 7 minutes but that was a year ago after I had built up to 7 minutes. I would never recommend anyone try Tanlines, the girl was rude and didn't know what she was talking about. They should not be allowed to work there unless they are educated enough to realize someone with fair skin cannot go in for 7 minutes. It is very dangerous for a person working there to tell someone with fair skin to go in for 7 minutes, she could cause someone to get skin cancer!!!!!! Overall I would never recommend anyone go to Tanlines.
awsome place – The employees are very helpful and made me feel right at home and comfortable. I also found that there prices and specials are very reasonable compared to club tan and suns up.
Dirty – I do not feel comfortable taking off my clothes and tanning there any longer. The girl at the desk never cleans the beds. I am going over to Pacific Beach until I find a nicer place.
Where is the best tanning In town?
LOVE IT!!! – it is the cutest salon with great and caring staff. They have nice beds with very good prices. I have tried going to pacific beach and club tan, but there service and prices were so much worse then Tanlines. I won't ever start going anywhere else and would recommend this place to any one.
Why Are We Talking About Pacific Beach? – This Salon is called Tanlines, It is not related to in any way to Pacific Beach Tan. Tanlines is owned by the same man who owns Oasis Tanning Salon in the Murray Hill market place. I tan at Oasis and recently visited Tanlines and loved it. Small salon atmosphere and very kind employees. I would recommend it to others.
Is Pacific Beach tan closing or staying open???? – I have heard rumes about Pacific Beach tan closing . I do not see them on the internet blogs. What does that mean? I would like to tan somewhere that is not going out of business.
Right ino – The references to Pacific Beach Tan closing in reviews on this site are completely false. Pacific Beach Tan is taking every action possible to pursue the violators of the terms and use of City Search and for defamation against Pacific Beach Tan and its owners. If there are any questions or concerns please contact Pacific Beach Tan at 1-800-979-4826
How long will they stay in business?? – Now that Pacific Beach Tan is closing its doors how do I trust any tanning facility that has not been around for years.
