Jung's Dynasty has ruined all other Chinese food restaurants for me and my family. They are the gold standard in Asian cuisine as far as we are concerned. There are consistently fast and reliable, take-out or dining in. They have been in our neighborhood for over 20 years and we have patronized them on dozens of occasions. They have never gotten an order wrong and there has never been a problem. The reviewer below who says he found a cockroach in his soup must know very little about Chinese food and even less about entomology. What he found is a mushroom; they are a standard ingredient in hot and sour soup.
Great Fresh Food – I've been looking for good chinese food in the area, and have been dissapointed in the past. Jung's Dynasty was the best all around. The food was hot and fresh. Didn't look like it had been sitting in a pan all day. The service was good, and they also have a lounge which was nice, since not a lot of chinese restaurants serve mixed drinks. I had the egg flour soup and the signapore noodles. Soup was good, the noodles were amazing, tender rice noodles full of yummy shrimp. Helpings were large. My boyfriend had a combination meal. I made it a point to try the fried rice off his plate, which was flavorful and not too dry. Yeah, the fortune cookies were gross. But, go to Jung's Dynasty - I highly reccomend it.
I won't be coming back – My family and I ordered food to go. The won ton was good but they gave us about a 1/4 cup of sauce for about 12 won ton's . We ordered sweet and sour pork and shrimp and we received about a 1/4 of sweet and sour sauce for each. Again not enough. You couldn't tell the difference visually between the pork and shrimp. We ordered Chicken chow mein which is a favorite or my daughter and I. It didn't taste good. And to top off the meal the fortune cookies were very stale. Instead of saving the leftovers for lunch, they went straight into the garbage. We won't be coming back.
Only Made It To The Soup – Was in Portland for business, stopped in one day for lunch. I ordered the hot and sour soup... About half way through the bowl, I found a roach in the soup. We cancelled our order and walked out!
Fantastic Chinese Food – Was staying at the Comfort Inn and wanted some food, so I walked over to this little Chinese Restaurant and the food was excellent and the service was fantastic.
Mediocre at best..... – Read the reviews online and decided to give this place a try.......bad idea. Although the service was good and the place is kid friendly the food wasn't very good. I must say that the crab puffs were excellent. I ordered the General Tso's Entree which was very dry and hard to eat with chopsticks. I ordered my kids Sweet and Sour chicken and fried rice and both were very bland. and my wife had the General tso and fried shrimp combo and the the shrimp didn't taste like anything. So overalll it was not a very good experience and I think maybe the reviews have been written previously by people that haven't eaten out very much.... so it is what it is...Mediocre
BEST HOT AND SOUR SOUP EVER, ACTUALLY GOT OVER A BAD COLD ONCE WITH THIS FANTASTIC SOUP! – I grew up next to this restaurant and have loved the food. Everything is excellent except the pork fried rice does need some love. The service is friendly and you can tell it's family owned due to the home like atmosphere. I got to say, I love the hot and sour soup and wish I could get the secret recipe. I used to eat it everyday almost! Best in all of Oregon and Washington.
Great service, Great food, calm quiet and kid friendly... – Well allot to say about this place... I do not usually like egg rolls but when it comes to theres' I would eat a whole plate full... The service is always friendly and enviroment is always calm and clean... The food is always hot... I am not easy to please when I go out, but I must say I have been very happy everytime I go here....
Great home cooked Chinese meal – This family owned restaurant not only offers great home cooked Chinese fare, but it's obvious that the owner's take pride in their two generation family business. The family and their loyal staff have a reputation with the regular diners and newcomers for consistent tasty, reasonably priced Chinese cooking that surpasses the mall fast food chains.
Wonderful family=Wonderful restaurant – Fifteen years ago, Jung's Dynasty set the standard for excellent Chinese food, and nothing compares, even to this day. No matter what we ordered, we could always count on steaming hot food, generous portions, and outstanding taste. Service would be prompt and smiles would be plenty.
A lot of things have changed in the past fifteen years, but not the excellence of this restaurant! All of the knowledge, hard work, and dedication of the Jung family has resulted in a special place where everyone feels welcomed and every taste bud is rewarded.
