If you are looking for an adequate place to sleep that is in a VERY convenient location, give this Inn a shot! My husband and son recently stayed here for 10 nights while in Portland on personal business. They negotiated a great rate, under $65 per night for this extended stay, and felt they received good value for the money. The room included a microwave, refrigerator, cable, WiFi, and there is a washer and dryer in the building for the guests to use. They could catch the bus or any of four Tri-Max Rail lines, right outside the Inn. Yes, the carpet and furnishings are tired, but the guys were mainly in the room to use their lap tops, shower, and sleep. There are coffee shops and restaurants nearby, as well as a Safeway. The staff was very helpful and courteous, even letting them make some copies on their copy machine. The maids did a great job, too. We felt so lucky to find this rate and value in a city that can be very expensive!
My stay started with a friendly and helpful front desk clerk, who answered all my questions and encouraged me to contact him if I had any more concerns it questions . Opening the door to my double queen bed room, it was exactly as I expected- a clean, basic room, but with a surprisingly pretty view of the Portland night sky upon opening the curtains!
The building is very old but the beds were comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The day man told us an awesome place for breakfast; Pinestreet Biscuits; very eclectic but delicious! We had soaps in the wrappers, the beds were clean.
It was clean and comfortable, the front desk staff were happy and very helpful as were the women cleaning on my floor. With the MAX stop right across the street, you really couldn't ask for a better location.
Four of us stayed here for a conference. The staff were great, the beds were very comfortable. We stayed on the side that does not face the Max, having read about the noise. Saying that, we ran the AC all night, and slept great. We felt safe, had enough room, and had no trouble getting extra towels and pillows from the front desk. For what it cost, we were very pleased.
It was affordable, and across the street from the convention center and from a stop on the airport line of the MAX light rail transit. They also have free parking for guests.
Good rates, nice staff, easy access to the rail system. The bed was firm and maid service was fine.
Cheap, large and clean room and bath room. Good wi-fi and free parking space in the back yard. The trams passed just outside but the noise did not bother much. Very good communciations to down town but also possible to walk there, also by night.
