Shame on Denny's for hiring Sergeants Towing for predatory towing practices! Do not eat here!!
Horrible service took 10 minutes to get seated. There were not a lot of people in the restaurant either. Then an hour until our food was brought to our table. I was told it took so long because I ordered chicken. Apparently an hour lunch is not enough time. I would go next store to Red Robin they are always busy and can accomadate an hour lunch time.
BEWARE OF TOWING SCAM – This Denny's is unethical and running a big SCAM!! I am not rating this Denny's for its food but for its unethical practice of subcontracting with a local tow company.
This tow company has permission to park in Denny's parking lot and stalk people who park at Red Robins next door. The parking lot is not clear nor are its signage. We had 13 people in our party tonight at Red Robin and seven of them were kids ages 13-1. Denny's made sure that they had their tow company tow our vehicles immediately after we parked in an unmarked area. I am sure we were 1 of 10 cars towed tonight and I will bet money that they tow over 500 cars a year to this specific tow company.
I confronted both the managers of Red Robin and Denny's and of course the Denny's manager said "go ahead and try and sue us, we have won all our lawsuits." Neither took responsibility for this situation.
The point is that they are unethical and scamming good people like ourselves and have been doing this for far too long. I am certainly going to the press with this scam and hope something will be done about it!!
Each of us had to pay $214.00 to get our vehicles out of tow. So lets say they stalk 500 cars per year at 214.00 each car thats over $104,000.00 just with this one location. I'll bet they are receiving some sort of kick back for this!!
Known for its breakfasts, this diner chain slings all-American grub and bottomless cups of coffee. – In Short
With its kid-friendly vibe, booth seating and late-night hours (most stores are open 24 hours), Denny's draws night owls, seniors and families with kids. The menu sticks to classic American staples: wings, chicken strips, burgers, salads and the like. But breakfast is king, with specialties ranging from skillets, egg scrambles, French toast platters and several variations on the famous Grand Slam: two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs, two bacon strips and two sausage links.
Worst restaurant in Portland, no question. – Worst restaurant I have ever been to. It took 40 minutes to get a glass of water, and when I finally got my breakfast, the eggs were fossilized and the gravy was congealed. I noticed the manager was just sitting at the counter doing nothing even though the restaurant was almost full. Avoid this one like the plague.
A Ptomaine Lover's Delight – This is probably the worst restaurant I've ever been to. Only went because it was near to my work that day and I had only a short time for lunch. I ordered a salad. When it FINALLY came it looked as if it had been made many days before. All the lettuce had brown edges. The dressing was sour and virtually inedible. To top it off, out of the corner of my eye I spotted a very large spider crawling behind my head. I bolted from my seat, we left the remainder of the awful food there, paid our bill, and left. A wretched experience.
