To make a really long story just long...
I purchased a diamond that cost me essentially car, was appraised at OVER $30,000. However I needed to find the perfect setting to put it in, and the search took me all over town from LO to Casacade station to downtown portland diamond district, mall 205, james allen, blue nile, white flash and everywhere I went they were either 1) far too expensive for the material and diamonds, 2) didn't know what they were talking out and made up stuff 3) didn't care about making something perfect but rather just a sale.
Joe Kassab Jewelry offered us THE best price point, by over 4K for a custom piece. It was an expensive setting in platinum. They had it done on time on short notice too. They answered all the questions before and all the ones after the purchase. I got to meet Joe and his son Joe Jr numerous times to make sure it was the perfect translation from what we had in mind to what we would have on finger.
Will go back again, many times over for any and all future purchased!
Great expereince, will be back for sure! – Went to Joe Kassab Jewelers for a custom made wedding band to match a quirky engagement ring my fiancé got from a different jewelry store that didn't have a matching band. They worked with me and came up with a design I loved and for a great price. We also ended up buying my fiancé’s wedding band there and they were super patient with helping us pick one out. The entire staff was super friendly and didn't make me feel like they were snobby, like some jewelry stores. I will recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and fun jewelry buying experience. Oh, and they have very competitive prices too :)
Horrible Experience – My $10,000 ring took me $100,000 of effort to get right. I liked the basic design of a ring in the case, and they were happy to design a setting for my diamond based on that design. We took a lot of time agreeing on the design, which I appreciated. When I got the ring, there was a difference in the curve of the surface from one side to the other. They said that they could buff it down... no problem. When I got the ring back, it was completely flat on both surfaces and not rounded like I wanted. I was very upset, and needed the ring remade. They did remake it for me, and as my wedding approached (days away!), I came in to look at it, and it was made in the wrong size. They resized the ring, but I noticed that the prongs were sharp and irregular, which I accepted. Because it was a white gold ring, they rhodium plated it, and apparently the rhodium plating system was old or dirty, and the ring ended up with black specks and cloudy splotches that wouldn't come out with gentle buffing. In the end, I took my ring, gave the jewlers a piece of my mind, and had a lovely wedding. I have since had the ring touched up by Fred Meyer Jewlers, and it looks gorgeous.
