A Gem of a restaurant! – Finally, a nice place to go in the area when you don't just want a steak and mashed potatoes. Try the salmon! The spices are just right...in fact, I could have stood for a little more but it's better to err on the side of caution considering the crowd. Definitely recommended for nice "date night".
highly recommended – i've eaten here three times and each has been a wonderful experience. everything i've tasted on their menu has been so delicious. the cornbread stuffing that comes with the sunday chicken is a must try. it's not what you expect, but is really tasty. the service is also wonderful here. it's very busy on weekends, so unless you want to wait forever, i suggest making reservations.
good creole food – the crawfish etouffee is good. i've also had the jambalaya and gumbo in the past. the beignets are always good. just went there a few weeks ago and the food is still good, price is average, portions are a little small if you're just having an entree. service is always good. recommend making reservations for weekend nights.
Must-do Creole food – The inside of the restaurant is in stark contrast with the understated approach. The ambience is wonderful, service outstanding, and food amazing. Try the Crawfish hushpuppies for starters. We once tried an appetizer special that was delicious - salmon tacos. On the main course, the Shrimp Creole is to die for. Finish up with their outstanding bread pudding, or French silk. Only complaint - they could do with a better wine list. But that shouldn't hold you back from frequenting this restaurant as much as we do :)
A Taste of New Orleans – Hubby & I are trying to try different restaurants in San Carlos, and we found this one on Citysearch.
Tomatoes were in season, so I had the caprese salad as an appetizer (heirloom tomatoes & mozarella). It was the *best* caprese salad I'd ever eaten. For the main course, I had some dish with soft shell crab & shrimp which was delicious. I can't remember what hubby ate but he liked it.
Unfortunately, I think it's an overlooked restaurant because its on a quiet stretch of El Camino Real without many stores around. If you enjoy cajun food, you should definitely try CreoLa. Don't miss out on this hidden gem.
Wonderful food, great value – California interpretation of down-home southern cookin'. Very tasty, very fresh. Not as spicy as I would have liked. The "dinner" add-on (soup, salad, and dessert) is an outstanding value, especially if you share it.
