Located just 45 minutes south of downtown Pittsburgh, a trip to these dual 6,400-yard 18s is well worth the taking. – The Scene
Originally built in 1928 on the site of a former farm and air port, Butler's has seen it's share of modernization over the years. Nine holes were added in both 1963 and 2000 to give hackers from around Southwestern Pennsylvania 36 holes of gorgeously landscaped and challenging golf.
The par-3 Lakeside 18th gets your knees shaking. Water surrounds the tee box and left side of the putting surface, and a
solid 180 yard shot over the pond still leaves you with three sand traps to negotiate.
Three par-5s over 500 yards (4, 13, 17) give you the chance to do your best John Daly imitation of "grip it and rip
it." Butler's also features a large practice putting green, extensive driving range (with real grass tees), a practice sand pit and a four hole practice course. Rates range from $2.00 for a small bucket of balls to $45.00 for a month long practice pass.
